Geological Characteristic And Metallogenic Prediction Of The Shuiping-Fenghuangshan Barite Belt,Pingli County,Shaanxi

The South Qinling-Northern Dabashan(Qinba)region of Shaanxi Province is well-known for its endowment of barite,and plays an important role in the total barite production in China.In recent years,with the development of geological and mineral investigation and scientific research,a growing number of large barite deposits have been discovered and new mines have developed,indicating an enormous potential of barite resources in this region.The barite deposits in the Qinba region are roughly divided into three metallogenic belts,including the south(Zhenba Chengkou),middle(Luohe-Zhuxi)and north(Zigou-Chiyan).The Shuiping-Fenghuangshan barite deposit is located at the middle(Luohe-Zhuxi)belt,which has a general NW-striking along the southern Pingli dome in the early Palezoic rifting.The stratigraphic regionalization of the study area belongs to the Ziyang-Pingli stratigraphic district(?33-1).The Barite mineralization occurs predominantly in the Sinian Dengying Formation,with top and bottom surrounding rocks of dolomite,dolomite limestone,carbonaceous siliceous rock and carbonaceous siliceous slate.Based on the preliminary investigation project of gold and copper polymetallic ore deposits in Shuiping-Fenghuang area,Pingli County,Shaanxi Province,the barite deposits in Shuiping-Fenghuangshan area have been systematically investigated.In this thesis,we have introduced the geological and mineralization characteristics of the region,and summarized some crucial factors controlling the mineralization as well as the ore genesis.The potential ore-prospecting targets of the region have also been discussed.We have obtained the following major achievements:(1)The structural and litho-face–paleogeography conditions are favorable for barite deposition at the region;(2)The barite ore belt has a discontinued occurrence with NW-striking,and has been affected by the stripping fault,with irregular shape.(3)The research area is situated in the Barite ore belt,and has a very favorable futu...
