| The astronomical clock-tower is the world’s earliest water conservancy astronomical instrument invented in the Song Dynasty of China,and it is the representative of the ancient booming science and technology culture.It has a fine internal structure and has a very high status in the study of ancient Chinese machinery and astronomy.The restorations of the astronomical clock-tower are only displayed in a few areas,but the interior is still not accessible to tourists.Although the research on the astronomical clock-tower restoration has increased in recent years,its number is very small compared to other ancient cultural relics studies.The historical status and scientific and technological knowledge of the astronomical clock-tower continue to be popularized to the masses in the form of digitization.This article takes the digital reproduction of the astronomical clock-tower as the main research object,restores its operating principle,and combines the virtual reality technology to design and produce the water transport instrument image platform virtual simulation system,which aims to enable more people to better experience and understand our country.This great scientific and technological achievement of the Song Dynasty.In order to increase the realism and fluency of the user experience,this article optimizes the system,including models,water flow,video interaction,and the use of occlusion culling algorithms to improve the system’s operating frame rate and performance.This article specifically introduces the internal structure and transmission principle of the astronomical clock-tower,the development and current status of the virtual reality and occlusion culling algorithm,and the research significance of the combination of the digitalization of the astronomical clock-tower and the virtual reality technology.The specific research contents and results are as follows :The literature research method is used to summarize the historical position,internal structure and operation mode of the astronomical clock-tower,collect the digital protection data of ancient cultural relics,explore the current digital deficiency of the astronomical clock-tower,and determine the work content of this article.Through experimental comparison,using Pi XYZ,Obi Fluid and other plug-ins to optimize various functions of the system,the principle and optimization algorithm of occlusion culling algorithm are introduced in detail,and the logic and steps of planning occlusion culling in this system are analyzed.The studies improve system requirements and functional design through preliminary research.With the goal of increasing the popularization of the system,the functions of voice explanation,transmission video interaction,space switchingand other functions are realized in the interaction aspect,which meets the needs of users to understand the structure and transmission principle of the astronomical clock-tower.By roaming in the system,it meets the needs of users who cannot visit the restoration parts of the astronomical clock-tower.Realize a good user experience through virtual reality technology and various optimization technologies.Based on the popularization and immersive experience of this system,the usability measurement and user experience test and analysis were carried out.Usability metrics are evaluated in terms of user learning efficiency and usability testing.User experience testing includes the evaluation of several functions and interaction methods of the system.Statistical analysis of test results,sort out the advantages and disadvantages of this system,analyze the recovery results of this system and set future improvement goals. |
