Agricultural green development has become the leading concept of agricultural development at present and in the future. It is an important task to study the contribution of green productivity to agricultural economic growth and its effect on agricultural pollution reduction.Based on the inter provincial data of agricultural development and pollution in 1998-2018,this paper uses the nonparametric directional distance function model to measure and decompose the growth of agricultural green productivity in the province from the perspective of biased technological progress, focusing on the effect of output biased technological progress on agricultural economic growth and agricultural water pollution, and explores its impact mechanism. The results show that:(1)Agricultural green total factor productivity is in a state of continuous growth, green technology progress is the main force to support its growth, while the role of technical efficiency is the opposite.(2)The technological progress of agricultural green output has obvious bias, which plays an important role in improving agricultural productivity and technological progress. The output biased technological progress index of most regions shows the characteristics of periodic rise, but there are great differences among regions;(3)The output biased technological progress is generally conducive to agricultural pollution reduction, and its emission reduction effect gradually rises in the research period due to the change of development concept and the strengthening of environmental regulations. There are also regional differences.(4)The factors that significantly affect the rate of green output technology progress are the per capita disposable income of rural residents, the income gap between urban and rural areas, urbanization rate, financial support for agriculture policy, price policy, the education level of labor force, the degree of agricultural development, the structure of planting industry and the input of agricultural fertilizer, which have different e ffects on each region, which is related to the specific reality of agricultural development in each region. In addition, the government's protection and support for agriculture is effective and positive, but there is still much room for scientific fertilization and optimization of agricultural structure in the future.
