Based on the background analysis of the increasing volume of information and the advanced demand for expression, the new demand for "non-spatialized and quasi-spatialized" spatial information expression is proposed. While new methods of expression that break away from traditional forms in response to these needs have emerged, research on this new approach presents a marginal, fragmented research landscape. This paper constructs a quasi-map system to incorporate these new methods, elaborates the basic concepts and basic features of quasi-map,summarizes the abstract and design methods of quasi-map,and draws a series of Tupu that illustrate the quasi-map design pattern, which is intended to be generalized and generalized. The main tasks are as follows.First, the scattered new expressions are systematically integrated into the abstract generalization form of spatial information of the quasi-map.The basic concept of quasi-map is discussed from the two perspectives of "same" and "similar",the abstraction, order, ambiguity and topology of quasi-map is analyzed, and the prototype of quasi-map system is tentatively constructed.Second, the distinction and connection between quasi-map and maps is considered are contrasted in three aspects:the mathematical laws of spatial mapping, the cartographic synthesis of information screening, and the symbolic system of visual representation. In this paper,it is argued that a quasi-map is a broad representation of the map. Then,we construct a spatial information cube in three dimensions of space, form, and connotation. And discuss the position of quasi-map and map in the cube and their expression of inclination. This paper integrates the quasi-map system into the field of cartography and discusses the challenges that quasi-map poses for the fieldThird,we propose mapping approaches from real environment to quasi-map,including geospatial mapping, structural relationship mapping, spatial to non-spatial mapping, mapping of attributes instead of elements, and network logic mapping. We also summarize the abstract forms and design methods of the quasi-map.This paper argues that the main design principle for class maps is to reduce the visual recognition burden, including geometric substitution, position resetting, assimilation processing and visual balanceFinally,an overview of the traffic, ecological and strategic coordination in and around Shanghai was produced using the quasi-map methods, and the map produced by the quasi-map methods was compared with that produced by the traditional map methods. Then we have drawn a series of Tupu of quasi-map,which include graphic form, symbolic composition, expression accuracy, abstract content, visual variables and typical application scenarios. It forms the design reference for quasi-map and pushes the quasi-map's representation methods towards generalization and instrumentalization.
