When the seismic wave propagates underground,it will be absorbed by the medium and the energy will be attenuated. The absorption characteristics of the formation are a very important indicator of oil and gas.In addition, the quality factor or absorption coefficient is also very important for the processing of seismic data, such as inverse Q filtering. Therefore, for a long time, the research on the quality factor(Q value)reflecting the absorption characteristics has been one of the focuses of people's attention. This article intends to study the Q value from the following aspects.First, this paper studies the theory of viscoelastic media and analyzes the influence of underground media on the absorption of seismic waves. On this basis, several attenuation mechanisms of the mainstream are briefly described, and the influence of several factors such as temperature, pressure, and porosity on the attenuation of seismic waves is analyzed, and the rock pair under different external conditions is obtained. The seismic wave absorption capacity also has different conclusions.Secondly, based on the Futterman theoretical model, this paper combines the Lucy-Richardson algorithm with the generalized S transform to derive a new spectral ratio method quality factor estimation formula. This method introduces parameters ? and p to adjust the width and amplitude of the time window function, substitutes the Wigner-Ville distribution of the generalized S time spectrum and Gaussian window into the Lucy-Richardson algorithm, and then uses the log spectrum ratio to fit the parameter ?,Thus, the Q value(LR-GST method)is obtained. In this process, the time-frequency resolution of the signal processed by the generalized S change and the LR-GST method was compared by synthesizing complex signals, and the accuracy of the method of extracting the Q value by the LR-GST was verified by comparing the actual data with the well data. Finally, this article shows some uses of Q in seismic exploration. The first part applies the extracted Q value to inverse Q filtering.First, the basic principles of several classic inverse Q filtering methods are described.Secondly, the stability of various inverse Q methods is analyzed by the model. The second part studies the absorptionbased properties Crack detection method.Applying this method to actual data, combined with actual drilling data,it can be seen that the Q value has a strong ability to identify fractures.
