Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Computer Aided ProcessPlanning (CAPP) integration technology is the effective means to realize theenterprise's information management. Through research on intelligent CAPPsystem, the appropriate decision-making process design theory and methodswere established in PLM-based information management system, which is ofgreat significance for improving the manufacturing process design andinformatization, shortening production cycles and improving product qualityand market competitiveness.On the basis of the analysis of CAPP systems and PLM technologies,combined with the Beijing Municipal Education Commission-funded projects "the study on press intelligent process decision-making System based on MIS ",the intelligent CAPP process design based on PLM was put forward byinduction and summary in this paper. The architecture and a number of keytechnologies were researched. The main contents of the dissertation are asfollowing:1. The concept of research achievement and application status of CAPPand PLM technology was reviewed respectively. The purpose and significanceof the topic is represented and the contents of the paper are introduced?2. The CAPP architecture and function structure based on PLM were built.Information integration model of product manufacturing based on features andPLM-Oriented data integration and management models of process planningwere proposed based on PLM-based CAPP system design theory.3. The feature-based integrated information model of geometric andmanufacturing information for CAPP and multi-level feature information modelwere established, based on the research on printing process analysis andfeature modeling technology. The instantiated method of parts characteristicsand features process mapping model were proposed. 4. Through the study on case-based process generating mode and designof CAPP feature database and the process database, the automaticgenerating process planning theory of position tiered set and processdecision-making based on case fuzzy similar reasoning were approached, andachieved process design and automatic generation in CAPP system.5. The intelligent CAPP process decision-making system based on PLMwas established. Designed the intelligent CAPP overall function diagrams ofdecision-making process and process decision-making model and achievedthe relative separation of decision-making and process knowledge. Reasoningmethod of process decision-making of the system was studied and the designof the functional modules in the process decision-making system was realized.6. A intelligent PLM-based CAPP prototype system for the printing platesprocess decision-making was founded and its structure?function?work flowand running instance were illustrated. Assessment of the system's operationwas made.
