In recent years,with the improvement of the people's material and cultural living standards.The request to the paper's quality and usage are increasing.In order to meet people's diverse needs,more and more researcher into the study of the specialty paper.Transparent paper,a type of specialty paper,is widely used to transparent wrapping paper and adhesive tape also has the advantage of easily degradable,has attracted great attention.In general,to improve the transparency of the paper is in two ways:improving beating degree and adding transparent agent.Method using high beating degree to improve the transparency of paper has the drawback of increased consumption of paper and undermines the strength of the fibers.The method of using paper transparent agent for producing transparent paper has gradually attracted people's attention because of its advantages such as easy operating and never damage fibers,etc.And have the trend to replace the method using high beating degree to improve the transparency of paper.It is a arduous task to develop a transparent agent which is good effect,inexpensive and stable.This paper is systematic studied the new paper transparent agent and its application for paper-based film and transparent packing paper within the scope of the library.The result indicate that the new paper transparent agent is a kind of light yellow emulsion with solids content 40%,the main agent and solvent ratio of 1:2,refractive index 1.51 and viscosity 18.8cp.The new paper transparent agent could keep stable properties for a long time at room temperature and won't appear the phenomenon such as hierarchical or turbid solution.The storage time and temperature had little influence to the transparent property of the agent,while it should be kept sealed because of its volatility.After the paper impregnated,transparency has been significantly improved,the largest improved value is 35%,while the tensile strength,bursting strength,tearing strength and whiteness has reduced in different degree.Dip to the paper's tensile index and porosity has obviously influence.When the main agent and solvent agent's ratio has reached 1:2,after dipping 5s sheet tensile index from 31.8N·m/g down to 23.6N·m/g,and the porosity is reduced from 12.84?m/pas to 4.87?m/pas.The dipping temperature and time can influence the performance of the transparent agent.Appropriate extension the dipping temperature and time is beneficial for improve the transparency of the paper.The transparent agent can permeate rapidly at room temperature in short,the optimal time is 5 seconds.The scanning electron microscopy(SEM)images showed that the transparent agent has a good retention rate in base paper by adhering to the fiber surface and filling in the interspace of the fibers.Adding different amounts of PAE wet strength agent in the paper is good for transparent paper.Especialy in PAE amount of 1.2%(on dry pulp),not only ensured the transparent original impregnation agents,but also significantly improved paper strength.While adding PAE wet strength agent and sizing agent AKD in papermaking,after dipping the resulting transparent paper,not only had better transparency,also significantly improved strength.Pressing treatment of the transparent paper also have influence on the transparency and air permeability,and the air permeability with greater impact.When using pressure of 3MPa to press the transparent paper,its air permeability reduced from 8.98?m/pas to 5.65?m/pas.The yellowing value for transparent paper preferred after the impregnation of transparent agent is 0.21%,which means that this transparent agent preferred is better for the impregnation of sheet.Aft the new paper transparent agent treatment,the transparency of the paper has increased very large.At the same time,the physical strength of the paper can meet the requirements of the treatment wrapping paper.When dipping the heavy paper with the transparent agent,the tensile strength and bursting strength of paper will decrease more serious than tear strength,and its porosity and whiteness decrease obviously.The new paper transparent agent can improve little on the transparency of the unbleached base paper.It has little influence on the tearing strength and bursting strength,but considerable effect on the tensile strength.Therefore,the improvement of transparency should be focused on in our future work when unbleached paper is used as paper mulch.
