Study On The Coloring Of The R₂O-Bi₂O₃-B₂O₃-SiO₂ System Glass

The color glass is widely used in the fields of art decoration,filter,lighting,signal and so on.It has important significance for people's daily life,industrial and agricultural production,scientific culture and national defense construction.Red glass because of its own unique charm is favored by everyone.Colloidal colored glass is highly anticipated because of its color,but most of the colloidal colored glass usually used lead glass as its basic glass,because the lead glass can dissolve metal elements better.As everyone knows,lead will produce pollution on the environment and bring biological hazard,therefore,this paper attempts to use Bi₂O₃ which has the similar properties to replace PbO in the R₂O-Bi₂O₃-B₂O₃-SiO₂ system.This paper will add four kinds of colored elements,like gold,silver,manganese,cerium and titanium in the R₂O-Bi₂O₃-B₂O₃-SiO₂ system of glass.After making a series of different experiments,I finally prepared the corresponding color glass.Through a series of testing methods,the chemical stability and thermal stability of the basic glass were studied.Then the absorption spectrum of the glass and the color coordinates of the glass were measured by UV VIS spectrophotometer and CIE1931-RGB system,and the color of the glass were analyzed.The results show that the R₂O-Bi₂O₃-B₂O₃-SiO₂ system has good thermal properties,chemical stability and hardness.The development of ruby glass absorption peak around 530nm.Different colorants content,heat treatment temperature and heat treatment time of glass have a certain influence in the colored glass,namely in a certain range,colorant agent content more,the darker the glass.Heat treatment temperature is higher and heat treatment time is longer,the glass's color is deeper,color glass from rose to purple red shift.The absorption peaks of silver contained glass were located around 470 nm,its color is orange.For the glass which contained silver,the color temperature and time have the same effect on the glass's color rule with the red-ruby glass.When the manganese was added in the glass system,I can get the brownish red to dark red brown glass,the color is same with the color when the lead glass was added some manganese.When add two kinds of mental elements like cerium and titanium in the glass system,we can get a series of color glass which color will be changed from light yellow to brown.No matter cerium or titanium was added more,the glass's color will be deeper.
