High-precision bearings play an essential component among high-precision machines,while one of the core components of bearings is high-precision ball.The higher-quality of high-performance bearing is demanded increasingly around the market environment.Therefore it is very urgent to take further study on processing high-precision ball.The process tracks over the ball surface are concentric circle because the spin angle is always a constant value with traditional V-groove method.Spin-angle self-control method colud have changeable spin angle,but both the instrument and the control system become more complex,and number of ball in a process is lesser synchronously.Consequently,this paper proposes a novel way to process high-precision balls by varible curvature groove lapping plate aming at solving the defects of above two methods.On the other hand,this paper designed a circulation processing system according to the processing principle of variable cuvature groove.Hope the development of circulation processing system can provide more research information for varible curvature groove lapping.For this new circulation processing method,the main work of this paper can be included to the following aspects.(1)Through analysis the ball's movement in the varible curvature groove,the research obtained the angle of sphere self-rotation,angular velocity of sphere self-rotation and angular velocity of revolution.Through establishment of spherical grinding trajectory calculation method,the research analysised and compared the grinding trajectory between varible curvature groove method and other processing method and found this method can realize the full envelope of surface grinding trajectory in single processing cycle.(2)A ball circulating and conveying mechanism was given out.It can make ball which get out from variable cuvature groove lapping plate turn back to plate center keeping original processing order.Through theoretical analysising,the circulation conveying mechanism mainly solved two important problems.One is the ball's processing order is not disrupted.This function can maintain processing batch consistency as far as possible.The other one is to transport the balls to plate center,without collision.(3)A pressurizing mechanism was given out.It can make processing pressure which influences lapping quality stable.Through the analysis of factors affecting the accuracy of pressure loading,the research optimized the design of pressurization mechanism.(4)Finally,author carries out a plenty of process experiments which consider the quality of surface and roundness as criterion aiming at exploring process technology.The results display that the final accuration could reach 0.09?m in roundness,0.0096?m in surface roughness and 0.17?m in consistency,which illustrates this method absolutely has got G5 grade balls.Then the comparation experiment between traditional method and the novel method under same process paremeters explans the novel method has an advantage of high-effciency and high-consistency.
