The multi-component hard coating layer,because of its ability to improve the tools'cutting performance effectively and to improve the high-temperature oxidation performance of the tool and die,was widely concerned.However,due to the poor working condition and the severe changes of hot and cold,the failure of Cr12MoV steel is often found under thermic fatigue,thermic wear or cracking.Therefore,we need to improve its performance and service life by way of surface modification technology.The multi-component CrNiTiN coating layer is formed based on CrN film which added into Ti,Ni elements.It is of great significance to improve the failure of Crl2MoV steel by way of made hard film on the face of steel.In this present work,CrNiTiN coating layer deposited on the Cr12MoV steel by closed-filed unbalanced magnetron sputtering ion plating coater.The microstructure,morphology and composition were characterized and analyzed by using XRD,SEM,EDS;the hardness and adhesion was measured by vicker microhardness meter and scratch test;the tribological properties was evaluated by friction and wear spectrometer.Effect of different surface treatment,different hardness of matrix and different thermal oxidation temperature on microstructure,composition and performance of CrNiTiN coating layer were analyzed.The results show that CrNiTiN coating layer have homogeneous microstructure,fine grain size(about 20nm),and with a polycrystal fcc structure exhibited a(200)preferred orientation.Its crystal structure is similar to CrN,but the lattice constant is slightly expanded.CrNiTiN coating layer was made by closed-filed unbalanced magnetron sputtering ion plating coater on surface of nitrided steel.The content of metallic element continues is increased result from nitrided,so the surface hardness and adhesive force of the coating increase while the friction and wear rate increase gradually.The film has the best performance on the nitrided steel.The hardness,the friction and wear rate of the coating layer on the nitride steel is better than the coating layer on steel.The performance of the film on the higher matrix hardness is better than the lower matrix hardness.
