Aramid fiber with its excellent performance,become the ideal reinforcing material of rubber composites.However,due to the steric effect of benzene ring in aramid fiber and molecular chain highly oriented along the axial direction,makes the surface of aramid fiber is very smooth,and chemical inertness,amide groups almost impossible to work with other groups.Aramid fiber and rubber matrix poor caking and influence the exertion of excellent mechanical properties of Aramid fiber.So,it is particularly important to how to effectively introduce active functional group in the surface of aramid fiber,and increase its surface roughness,thus improve the aramid fiber and interface properties of natural rubber matrix.And traditional methods of chemical modification,due to the degree of difficult to control,improve the interface effect is not obvious,and the shortcoming of serious pollution in today's advocating green environment is inappropriate.Therefore,this research can hope to find method which can be industrialized production,low pollution,strong operability method instead of the original method.This paper studied how to effective modification of aramid fiber,so as to improve the performance of the aramid fiber reinforced natural rubber composites.Studied three kinds of aramid fiber surface modification method,the results are as follows:(1)The surface of aramid fiber(AF)is treated by ultraviolet light(UV)in different time.The results show that the oxygen-containing functional groups of AF increase after UV treatment,and the surface of AF is etched with some grooves,improving the interfacial compatibility of AF and NR.Compared with the AF/CB/NR composites without UV treatment of AF,the sample under UV treatment for 8 minutes has better comprehensive performance,the modulus at 100%,300% and tear strength of AF/CB/NR composites increase by 14.88%?11.44% and 21.47%,respectively.(2)After the surface of aramid fiber is treated by ultraviolet light,use the silane coupling agent KH570 secondary grafting modification,the results show that the modified conditions of 40 ?,6 h,6 wt %,the combination of aramid fibre and natural rubber ability best.The modified composites' pull force than unmodified aramid composites' pull force increased by 132.1%.Compared with the Untreated-AF/CB/NR composites,the KH570-UV-AF/CB/NR has better comprehensive performance,the stress,the modulus at 100%,300% and tear strength of AF/CB/NR composites increase by 17.13%?24.70%?22.43% and 48.67%,respectively.(3)After the surface of aramid fiber is treated by ultraviolet light,use the silane coupling agent KH550 secondary grafting modification,then graphene oxide grafted on the surface modification of aramid fiber.Find aramid fiber surface activity and roughness was further promoted,thus improve the strength of the interface.Compared with the Untreated-AF/CB/NR composites,the GO-KH550-UV-AF/CB/NR has better comprehensive performance,the stress,the modulus at 100%,300% and tear strength of AF/CB/NR composites increase by 21.27%,53.56%,43.39% and 78.12%,respectively.
