PM2.5 And PM10Particle Characteristics And Its Pollution Status In Shanxi Agricultural University

In Shanxi Agricultural University,snack street,main teaching building,botanical garden,and dormitory area four spatial sampling points in this campus has been chosed in this study for exploring the air pollution situation and the characteristics of the typical particles of PM10 and PM2.5 in the campus.The concentrations of SO2 and NO2 at different sampling sites were systematically analyzed before and after coal combustion for heating in winter;the concentrations,single particle morphology,chemical composition,and distribution of PM2.5 and PM10 were analyzed.At the same time,based on investigation of atmospheric particulate matter retention ability of plant leaves in the campus of Shanxi Agricultural University,the best green plants for dust retention in this campus has also been selected in this study.The results showed that:(1)Soot aggregates,fly ash particles,and soil mineral particles were the main three kinds of atmospheric particles in Shanxi Agricultural University,which mainly from biomass fuel combustion and crustal dust,etc.Among them,the snack street particle pollution is the most serious.The PM2.5 and PM10 average concentration in this point exceeded the national ambient air quality standard(GB3095-2012)values for 4.27 times and 2.80 times,most of them are fine particles.The pollution of atmospheric particulates is the lightest in the botanical garden,and most of them are fine particles.(2)In 2015,the PM2.5 and PM10 daily average concentration of the main teaching roof in the coal combustion period(November 15th-December 15th)were 1.35 times and 1.44 times than the no coal heating period(September 15th-October 15th).In 2016,the average daily concentration of PM2.5 and PM10 in the sampling period was 2.51 times and 2.03 times higher than that in no heating period.In 2015,SO2 concentration and NO2 concentration in the period of coal combustion were 2.51 times and 1.19 times before the period of coal burning.But in 2016,the SO2 concentration and NO2 concentration in the period of coal burning were 2.34 times higher than the concentration before the period of coal burning.It i s noted that the particulate matter pollution during coal combustion in the year of 2016 was greatly than the corresponding time in 2015.(3)Existing plants on campus,Sophora japonica Linn has the strongest capacity of keep dust down in per unit leaf area;Grewia biloba G.Don has the weakest capacity of keep dust down.Sophora japonica Linn,Zelkova Sinica Schneid,and Sophora japonica Linn var.japonica f.pendula Hort were suitable for the purification of atmospheric particulate pollutant species in Shanxi Agricultural University.The dust retention capacity of Quercus wutaishansea Mary,Kerria japonica,and Grewia biloba G.Don were weaken.Therefore,these Plants have not been recommended as a species for atmospheric particulate matter purification of Shanxi Agricultural University.The outcomes of this study are not only limited use in Shanxi Agricultural University,but also can provide scientific parameters and effective solutions for the atmospheric pollution in Northern Universities which has high green degree,winter combustion and is surrounded by snack street pollution.It has a great significance for improve the campus environment in North China.
