Integrating both traditional materials and modern technology,LiTracon is a new building material that produced by mixing a large number of transparent materials(optical fiber,acrylic,resin,etc.)with concrete;thus,it enjoys high light transmittance.Meanwhile,its unique light transmission and decorative effect differ LiTracon from the traditional materials and make concrete no longer a symbol of clumsy and dull.This paper centers on LiTracon material and the interior space interface design;by analyzing the physical properties of the LiTracon,it focuses on its application in interior space interface.It is a tentative attempt to summarize the methods and principles of applying LiTracon in interior space interface and offer more insights for designers at home and abroad in terms of LiTracon materials as well as extend the application of LiTracon in future designs with reasonable manners.Firstly,by reviewing a large amount of literature and materials,the background and development status of the LiTracon materials were combed,and visit of existing domestic cases were conducted in combination with the actual investigations.Then,through practice,the author conducted an internship in a company that produces and develops LiTracon materials and acquired detailed understanding of the properties and production process of LiTracon materials.Advantages and disadvantages of LiTracon materials were analyzed through comparison with normal concrete,glass and other materials.Secondly,the existing cases of LiTracon applied in indoor space at home and abroad were analyzed.Exposition was made from the four aspects of wall,partition,cylinder and ground to expound how the LiTracon can be applied in different types of indoor space.According to these cases,it is concluded that three major principles should be followed in the practical application of LiTracon,namely integration of practicality and applicability,coexistence of coordination and aesthetics,as well as combination of economic efficiency and structural design-ability.Finally,based on the above research and the conclusions and principles drawn,the LiTracon material was applied to the design of the indoor space interface of a movie studio.It is hoped that through the analysis and summary of this article,designers will have a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the application of LiTracon in the design of indoor space interfaces.
