Rutile titanium dioxide is one of the titanium matreials for the production of taitanim dioxide and titanium.With the development of industry,the reserves of the natural rutile titanium dioxide can be reduced gradually,but the structure and properties of synthetic rutile are the same as that of natural rutile.Therefore,utilize titanium slag preparation of synthetic rutile has become a trend.There are abundant vanadium and titanium magnetite resources in Panxi area in C hina,but the overall composition is complex,the content of calcium and magnesium is high.Therefore,It is urgent to find new technology for making artificial rutile with rich vanadium and titanium magnetite resources in China,This will not only meet the needs of the market,which is of great significance for the efficient utilization of titanium resources in china.In this paper,the titanium slag produced by the Panzhihua iro n and Steel Research Institute is the research object.from the XRD spectra of titanium slag,it can be seen that the main phase in titanium slag is Fe Ti2O5 phase and MgTi2O5 phase?M3O5 anosovite?and it also have some rutile phase exists in it.A new process for the?preparation of artificial rutile by microwave modified roasting,acid leaching and microwave calcination?is proposed in combination with the energy transfer mode and selective heating mode of microwave heating.The crystal structure,surface morphology and surface functional groups of high titanium slag and the synthesized products were analyzed by XRD,FT-IR,Raman and SEM,respectively.The conditions of high titanium slag and modifier proportion,calcination temperature and time,leaching time and acid concentration,acid leaching and the leaching residue ratio,calcination temperature and time were studied.Comparison of the ratio of the XRD diffraction peak intensity and the SEM micromorphology of the rutile phase in the product,it come to conclution that the titanium slag and modifier at ratio of1:0.5,calcination temperature of 950?,roasting 1 hours,leaching 5 hours,,the concentration of leaching acid was 30%?w/w?and acid leaching residue to the ratio of 6:1,calcination temperature of 900?and calcination 0.5h is the best process conditions for the synthesis of best crystal the structure of synthetic rutile.In this paper,a series of advantages by microwave heating method using the reasonable of Panzhihua titanium slag ore processing,finally,the better rutile TiO2crystal is obtained,providing a new technical plan for the rational use of rich titanium resources in china.
