The Study On Supply-side Structural Reform Of Architectural Ceramic Industry In Foshan,Guangdong

Since the reform and opening up,China has gained rapid economic growth and become a strong economic power with improved living standards of its people.But various problems reveal in the economic development as China’s reforms deepen.Excess capacity and dislocation between supply and demand seriously impede the development of China’s economy.Thus,it is imminent to start the supply-side structural reform.In the essay,firstly,the opportunities and challenges that Architectural ceramic industry in Foshan faces are analyzed from domestic and foreign perspectives.It is believed that Architectural ceramic industry in Foshan should fully grasp opportunities that are brought by the policies of “the Belt and Road”,“the Beautiful Village” and “the Sponge City”,and tap potentials of market space.The industry should actively respond to challenges such as increasing costs,great pressure from energy saving and emission reduction,lack of innovation and overcapacity.Secondly,the necessity of supply-side structural reform is analyzed from the constraints of natural resources,the country’s development strategy,and the development of ceramic corporations.Energy and mineral resources are becoming increasingly scarce.Air,water,and land are heavily polluted.With the strategy that innovation drives development and the inherent needs of sustainable development strategies,the increasing homogeneity of products as well as the continuously reducing profit of the industry make the supply-side structural reform of architectural ceramic industry in Foshan necessary.Finally,measures taken by the government,industrial associations and other non-profit organizations and enterprises are analyzed.For the government,the top-level planning and design should be well established,relevant systems should be formed and improved,industrial optimization should be promoted,and overseas markets should be actively developed.For industrial associations and other non-profit organizations,market demand analysis should be well done and personnel training plans and industry standards should be formulated,and environmental protection should be supervised.For enterprises,they should constantly optimize product structure,promote product diversification,improve product quality,actively implement brand strategy,strive to expand sales channels,form corporation culture and have personnel trainings.From the data of Chinese Ceramics and Bathroom Industry Market in 2017,the overcapacity of the ceramic industry was about 40%,which indicated that it has already been an industry with higher excess capacity.The capacity of architectural ceramic industry in Foshan ranks the top in China.Therefore,the research on the supply-side structural reforms in Foshan’s architectural ceramics industry can show its representativeness.The necessity and significance of the supply-side structural reform in China can be witnessed in this study.It can play its universal role in guiding the supply-side structural reform across China.
