In this paper,a new type of sulfur burner is studied.Compared with the traditional liquid sulfur burner,the sulfur burner does not need the sulfur melting pool,the liquid sulfur pump and the liquid sulfur ejector,and the structure is more simple;In terms of manipulation,the high temperature liquid sulfur injection amount in traditional liquid sulfur burner is difficult to control,and there will be higher concentration of sublimed sulfur and SO3 in the SO2 mixture.The amount of sulfur powder is more easily controlled.In the SO2 gas produced,the concentration of SO3 is very low and the sublimation sulfur content is 0.In the equipment economy and maintenance,the whole set of equipment of the liquid sulfur burner is very expensive,the equipment is complex and the maintenance cost is high.The price of the sulfur powder burner designed in this paper is low,the equipment is simple and the economy is more economical.During the design of the sulfur burner,the FLUENT simulation software was used to analyze the movement track and concentration distribution of sulfur powder and air in the host of the sulfur burner,and the main structure of the sulfur powder burner was determined:the diameter of the ceramic tube in the sulfur powder burner is 70mm,using the spiral sprayer,3 plane guide vane.The deflection angle is 10 degrees.The FLUENT simulation software is used to simulate the combustion of sulfur powder in the combustion chamber.The results show that two different flame forms are found in 0-60g/s and 60-80g/s,the former concentrates on the central axis,and the latter will be near the wall.The influence of the air excess coefficient,the ceramic tube temperature,the inlet velocity of sulfur powder and the particle size of sulfur powder on the combustion of sulfur powder is also analyzed:The optimum air excess coefficient is one variable and decreases with the increase of the sulfur burning rate;the optimum temperature of the ceramic tube is about 1000 C;the optimum inlet velocity of the sulfur powder is 0.5-2m/s;the optimum particle size of the sulfur powder is obtained.It should not exceed 0.2mm.The efficiency of making SO2 by the sulfur burner designed in this paper has basically reached the level of the traditional liquid sulfur burner,and the sulfur content in the SO2 gas mixture is 0 and the SO3 is below 0.1%under the optimum conditions.This has a certain guiding significance for the new research ideas of industrial SO2 gas production.
