In the past decade,research on the relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution has been a hot topic among domestic and foreign scholars.The empirical research literature abroad has been accumulating rapidly.The tracking and research of domestic scholars is also increasing.However,the conclusions drawn from different studies have obvious differences due to geographical,environmental variables,and sample year choices.Based on the general inverted Kuznets inverted U-shaped relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution,this paper uses meta-analysis to reexamine a large number of domestic empirical documents.First of all,according to environmental pollution,economic growth,environmental Kuznets,and the combination of the above terms as key words on multiple search engines such as CNKI-National Standard Full-Text Database,Weipu Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Full-text Database,and Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform.Search,a total of more than 2,000 related documents were collected.Secondly,through Endnote's literature management software,a preliminary screening was conducted,and 286 articles that meet the research direction were obtained.Thirdly,based on the literature inclusion and exclusion criteria,a total of 186 independent samples from domestic relevant empirical literature were selected for comprehensive analysis,and STATA software was used to process and analyze related data.Finally,according to the results of meta-analysis model,forest map,clipping,and sensitivity analysis,the research on the relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution in the collected literature is explored.The analysis results show that the reanalysis of a large number of related documents by the meta-analysis method used in this paper does not have publication bias.On the one hand,the relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution is not only a single inverted U-shaped curve relationship,there are seven kinds of curve relationships between them,and their relationship with the type of pollutants selected.On the other hand,we can learn from the meta-analysis model that the heterogeneity of the model may come from the size of the sample,the region,and the year of the sample.According to the conclusions of the meta-analysis,the government is provided with suggestions on the governance of environmental pollution based on economic growth.
