Since the industrial revolution, the global economy has developed rapidly and the social productivity has been growing rapidly. While the Industrial Revolution created great productivity,it also brought serious air pollution. It is widely acknowledged that human activity such as burning coal and oil is one of the main causes of global warming. With the entry into force of the Paris Agreement, the study of the social roots of the increasingly serious greenhouse effect and other environmental issues have once again become a hot topic among the academic community.Using Hansen(1999)panel threshold model, this paper investigates the interaction effects of green technology innovations and income on carbon dioxide(CO2)emissions based on a national panel data set covering 71 countries from 1996 to 2012.The results indicate that the influence of green technology innovations on CO2 emission per capita shows a single threshold depends on the income level. That's in the higher income stage, the effect of green technology innovations on CO2 emissions is more obvious. But the transition of regime occurs at an extremely high-income level; And the EKC in this model was supported, which means that per capita CO2 emission and per capita income showed an inverted U curve relationship; The estimation results show that urbanization level, industrial structure, trade openness and energy consumption structure are also essential factors of C02 emissions. There is an inverse relationship between trade openness and the per capita CO2 emissions; And the PHH hypothesis is not supported. This paper believes that governments should emphasize the role of green technology innovation in reducing CO2 emissions; We should increase scientific research investment in green technologies. We should also energetically develop the economy, raise the income level of the people, and strive to reach the second half of the u-shaped curve at an early date.In addition, transforming energy consumption structure and developing clean energy are crucial. We will actively adjust the industrial structure, reduce the proportion of secondary industries, and gradually upgrade the industrial structure to the tertiary industry.
