With the vigorous use of clean energy in recent years, the natural gas industry has entered a stage of rapid development. The rapid development of industry has brought about more and more problems of safety, environment and disaster prevention. In particular, the natural gas station, which covers a large area, processes and equipment, and has a large metal pipeline and high equipment,is itself in the environment where lightning strikes easily.Once struck by lightning,in addition to inestimable economic losses,it will cause pollution to the environment, bring chaos to society, and even cause crisis to national energy. So,how to ensure the safety of production under the premise of how to effectively protect the station from the natural hazards of the technical research is the most important.Taking Beijing gas Yan Cun gas station as the research object, this paper introduces the lightning accident of YanCun gas station, and analyzes the cause of the lightning accident. The research methods of site survey, key design protection and laboratory simulation are used to explore the risk degree of lightning strike, the design requirements of protection technology and the safety degree of the site.In order to reduce the probability of lightning accident at YanCun gas station.Through analysis and research, combined with the existing national standards and relevant lightning protection experience, the lightning protection measures for YanCun gas station are put forward. In order to establish a safe and effective lightning protection system,it provides transformation basis and design criteria, which is very important for the safe operation of the natural gas station.
