Polishing,as the last step in mold processing,is directly related to the surface and surface quality of dies,and even the life of dies.Machinery facilities develop rapidly and become more sophisticated with the improvement of technology level.Traditional polishing methods may not be able to get the high accuracy surface,especially for mold materials.More and more optical components with more complex surface topography are applied in medical,aerospace,defense and military fields.More and more excellent intractable materials are applied in all important fields.People have higher requirements for the surface quality of optical elements,higher surface quality,better face precision and lower surface roughness.The high strength,heat resistance,wear resistance and corrosion resistance of these materials make the traditional processing methods unqualified.So many new polishing methods are getting more and more attention.Ultrasonic polishing technology has an important application in die surface processing and optical device processing.The principle of ultrasonic polishing is to transform highfrequency electric signals generated by ultrasonic generator into high-frequency mechanical vibration through ultrasonic transducers,thus impacting abrasive particles,and abrasive particles impacts on the surface,so that the material can be broken and removed for high precision polishing.This paper introduces the composition of the ultrasonic vibration system,expounds the mechanism of ultrasonic polishing,and analyses the mechanism of the electrorheological effect and the theoretical basis of the ultrasonic electrorheological polishing technology.According to the principle of ultrasonic polishing,theoretical analysis and calculation are carried out,and the contact between abrasive and workpiece is simulated.The electric field between workpiece and tool head is simulated and analyzed to obtain the electric field distribution.On the basis of the existing five axis CNC machine tools,the ultrasonic electrorheological polishing tool head is designed,and the worktable fixture and liquid storage device are designed.In order to realize the polishing can be tracking,the image processing system is used.Through image processing technology,we extract the location information of the groove to improve the processing efficiency.Based on the analysis,the ultrasonic electrorheological finishing equipment is designed and tested.The influence of surface roughness on several factors in ultrasonic electrorheological process is studied.Through the orthogonal experiment of ultrasonic electrorheological finishing,the order of influence of main factors on ultrasonic electrorheological finishing is determined.According to the orthogonal test results,single factor experiments were carried out for various factors,and the influence of various factors on surface roughness is understood.
