With the development of industry,the pollution of the environment is getting more and more serious,and the stratospheric ozone layer has been severely damaged.More ultraviolet light irradiate onto the ground,and the probability of dermatosis and skin cancer in the human body increases gradually.Clothing is an important protective tool for human skin,therefore,the research of anti-UV protection has become one of the important subjects at home and abroad.Benzotriazole UV absorbers and polymers had better compatibility.It had low cost,high efficient,fine stability and good ultraviolet absorption in the range from300400 nm.In recent years,the benzotriazole UV absorbers had no reactive groups,so the anti-UV ability of cotton fabric could not be sustained.Besides,the benzotriazole UV absorbers had oil-soluble groups,so organic medium could be used in anti-UV finishing process,which resulted in environmental pollution and higher costs.Therefore,it was necessary to synthesize a water-soluble reactive benzotriazole UV absorber to solve the existing problems.This task mainly focuses on the design and synthesis of a novel water-soluble reactive benzotriazole UV absorber and applied on cotton fabrics.Using o-nitroaniline as the starting material,a sulfonic acid group was introduced into the diazo component through sulfonation,and then the a water-soluble reactive benzotriazole UV absorber 2-?2,4-dihydroxyphenyl?-5-sulfonic acid?DPSB?was synthesized through diazotization and coupling with resorcinol and reduction cyclization.Then 2-{4-[4-chloro-6-2,6,6-tetramethyl–piperidine-4-amino)-?1,3,5?triazin-2-oxygen]-2-hydroxy-phenyl}azole?DPSB-TTPB?was synthesized by DPSB,2,4,6-trichloro-triazine and hindered amine.Synthesis conditions of each intermediate and final product were discussed to obtain the best reaction conditions.In addition,structure was characterized by IR,1H-NMR,13C-NMR and MS,and UV absorbance and solubility of DPSB and DPSB-TTPB were also tested.DPSB-TTPB has water solubility,reactivity and excellent UV absorption properties and good light stability.DPSB-TTPB was dyed on cotton fabrics by the method of reactive dyeing of chlorotriazine.The effect of finishing conditions on the finishing effect was discussed.Finally,the best finishing process was obtained:the temperature was 70?,the liquor ratio was 1:20,150 g/L Na2SO4,12 g/L Na2CO3,6%owf DPSB-TTPB and 2 h.Surface morphology and finishing effect were characterized by IR,SEM,XPS,the fixation of DPSB-TTPB on cotton fabric reaches 12.34?mmol/kg fiber?which was measured by spectrophotometer,which showed that DPSB-TTPB had been successfully finished on cotton fabric and the finishing effect was good.The UPF of the finished cotton fabric reached 53,and the UPF of cotton fabrics could retain 32after 50 washing cycles.The breaking strength of the cotton fabric after finishing was slightly damaged and the whiteness slightly decreased,but still good performance.The effect of UV absorbers on dyeing fabrics was discussed.The cotton fabric was dyed with three conventional reactive dyes:reactive orange KGN,reactive turquoise blue KGL and reactive blue K3.The light stabilities and perspiration-light stabilities of colored cotton fabrics without DPSB-TTPB finishing and colored cotton fabrics treared with DPSB-TTPB were measured and compared to non-UV finishing cotton fabric,The fastness to light fastness increased by 1.5 after 40 h of light irradiation,and the color fastness to acid and alkali perspiration increased by 0.5-1after 100 h of light,the degree of anti-UV finishing of cotton fabrics reduced.
