Silicone rubber has many excellent properties,such as good mechanical properties,non-toxic,good physiological inertia,good biocompatibility,and so on.It is very suitable for using as medical materials.However,the surface of silicone rubber is inert and is very hydrophobic.When silicone rubber is used as an implant material or an intervention material to contact human tissue,it is easy to rub with tissue and cause wound.And these silicone rubber medical materials may invade through various channels during contact with human tissues.Furthermore,it is more likely to cause bacterial infections in the special environment of hospitals.In this paper,in order to solve these problems,antibacterial modification and hydrophilic modification of silicone rubber were carried outIn this paper,the antibacterial agent AEM5700-A(AEM)and triclosan(TCS),an antibacterial agent of metal ion type antibacterial agent and an organic antibacterial agent,were selected to modify the Methenyl silicone rubber(SR-35)by blending.The antibacterial properties,mechanical properties and dispersion of antibacterial agents were analyzed by mechanical property test,SEM and bacteriostatic ring test.Then,hydroxyapatite(HA)was selected for physical blending with silicone rubber,hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA)and N-vinylpyrrolidone(NVP)were selected for the surface grafting modification of silicone rubber.The material was characterized by IR,SEM,water contact angle and XPS,indicated that HA reduced the water contact angle of silicone rubber.The hydrophilicity of silicone rubber increased slightly,but the mechanical properties of silicone rubber were decreased.HEMA and NVP could significantly improve the hydrophilicity of silicone rubber,and the contact angle of NVP modified silicone rubber was reduced to 22.0°.Finally,the PVP-grafted SR/AEM and PVP-grafted SR/TCS were prepared on the basis of antibacterial silicone rubber SR/AEM and SR/TCS.The hydrophilic and antibacterial properties of two modified silicone rubber were tested by static water contact angle test and film sticking method respectively.The results of water contact angle showed that PVP-grafted SR/AEM and PVP-grafted SR/TCS had good hydrophilicity,and the water contact angles on the surface were 24.2° and 22.2°,respectively.The Film test results showed that there was no colony growth on the mediums corresponding to the two materials,indicating both materials had good antibacterial properties for S.aureus and E.coli.
