Ultra-precision grinding technology as an important processing method for precision and ultra-precision machining has received increasing attention. At present, experts and scholars at home and abroad have researched many new types of grinding technology, but most of the research is conducted only on brittle and hard materials, and there are relatively few researches on non-ferrous metal alloy materials. With the increasingly widespread application of ultra-precision parts of non-ferrous alloy materials, scholars have paid more and more attention to the research of non-ferrous metal alloy grinding technology. Two kind of typical non-ferrous metal alloys materials which are aluminum alloy 6061 and tin-phosphorus bronze alloy were chosen in this article.Grinding mechanism was researched by using solid abrasive grinding technology, and the mechanical model of the cutting depth for single abrasive grain was established. The theoretical and experimental comparisons of diamond abrasives to black carbonized silicon abrasives were made. Finally, black carbonized silicon abrasives were selected to make pellets of grinding tool. The experiment has two processes of rough grinding and fine grinding, and the orthogonal experiment method and range analysis method had been used to optimize the experimental parameters. The surface roughness of the aluminum alloy 6061 workpiece reaches 25.8 nm under the optimal experimental parameters, and the surface roughness of the tin phosphor bronze workpiece is 21.24 nm.Analysis of experimental data shows that the material removal way is based on plastic removal when grinding aluminum alloys and copper alloys which cause the different results with the cemented carbide materials under the same grinding parameters.
