This paper using life cycle assessment(LCA)to research the energy consumption and carbon emissions of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region Inter-city Railway,analyzing the characteristics of energy consumption and carbon emissions of Inter-city Railway in life cycle,demonstrating the scientificity of life cycle assessment method for energy consumption and carbon emissions of Inter-city Railway,determining the Inter-city Railway boundaries,and basing on process analysis,divid the full life cycle of Inter-city Railway into four stages: building materials,construction,operation and maintenance,scrap demolition,create a list of energy consumption and carbon emissions of each stage,and establish a mathematical model.Based on the life cycle theory of Inter-city Railway and the analysis and calculation model of each stage's list,the energy consumption and carbon emissions evaluation system of Inter-city Railway over the life cycle was designed.Powerdesinger,a data modeling tool,was used in the MySQL database design of the system.And for a intuitive and quick analysis of life cycle for the energy consumption and carbon emissions of Inter-city Railway,designed also an application programe of user interaction.By investigating the operation data of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway over the years,this paper analyzes the regulares patterns and characteristics of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail passenger traffic,passenger turnover,traction power consumption and station electricity consumption.Through the lists,the energy consumption and carbon emissions of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail over life cycle were calculated respectively to be 1 235 767.43 TJ and 247 129.9KT.In the entire life cycle,the stage of operation and maintenance accounts for the largest proportion to 73.97% and 80.55%,and the major energy and carbon emissions generated during this stage are EMU traction and station electricity consumption.Sensitivity analysis of carbon emission factors at the base period shows that considering the dynamics of the carbon emission factors will make the results more accurate,indicating that the use of clean energy plays an important role in energy saving and emission reduction.By analyzing and studying the "13th Five-Year" plan of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Inter-city Railway Network,maked a forecast of the energy consumption and carbon emissions from the construction and operation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Inter-city Railway Network in the near future in 2020 and in the long term in 2030.And comparing with the energy consumption and carbon emissions generated by expressways and civil aviation transportation under the same passenger turnover,the results showed that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Inter-city Railway reduced energy consumption by nearly 62 percent and carbon emissions by 27 percent compared with other modes of transportation.Therefore,the development of Inter-City railway in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei could achieve the goal of energy conservation and emission reduction of transportation.
