Optical Resin has been widely used in the field of photoelectric materials for it's superiority of lightweight,excellent impact resistance,easy processing and so on.In this paper,4,4?-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfide was used as a raw material to synthesize two new monomers with high refractive index:4,4?-dihydroxyethyl ether diphenyl sulfide acrylate diester?PSAE?and episulfide/epoxypropyl ester diphenyl sulfide?ES/EOPS?.The sulfur-containing PSAE monomer was prepared by esterification reaction of the PSHE with acrylic acid and then its structure of PSAE was characterized by FT-IR,1HNMR,13C NMR and MS.The optimum synthetic conditions were obtained by orthogonal experiments.The results show that the ratio of alcohol to acid is 1:1.2,the reaction time is 14h and the catalyst dosage is 1.4%based on the total mass.The refractive index of PSAE/styrene?85/15,weight ratio?copolymer reaches to 1.6130 and all copolymers show good transparency.When styrene content of copolymer is 25%,the percentage transmittance of the copolymer is 87.6%at the meansuing wavelength of 550nm.The copolymers also exhibited good thermal stabilities,the 5%weight loss temperature reaches to 335.1 oC at 25%of the styrene content.The optical polymers of PSAE/PT3SH,PSAE/TA3SH and PSAE/TA4SH were prepared by Michael addition reaction or UV curing of PSAE with multiple thiols?2,3-bis??2-Mercaptoethyl?thio?-1-propanethiol?PT3SH??Trimethylolpropane tris?3–mercaptopropionate??TA3SH?and Pentaerythritol tetra?3-mercaptopropionate??TA4SH??.The polymerization behaviors of PSAE/PT3SH were studied by FT-IR spectrum.The Michael addition product of PSAE/PT3SH has a refractive index of 1.63 and the transmittance is 73.8%at 550nm.The dielectric constant of the Michael addition product of PSAE/PT3SH,PSAE/TA3SH and PSAE/TA4SH at 1MHz are 10.00,10.00 and 10.65,their dielectric losses are 0.047,0.037 and 0.037,respectively.The photocuring product of PSAE/PT3SH shows a high refractive index of 1.66 and the transmittance is 66.9%at550nm.The dielectric constant of the photocuring product of PSAE/PT3SH,PSAE/TA3SH and PSAE/TA4SH at 1MHz are 9.45,8.33 and 9.57,their dielectric loss is 0.031,0.023 and0.038,respectively.ES/EOPS monomer was synthesized by sulfur substitution reaction of epoxy groups by KSCN and the chemical structure of monomer was characterized by 1H NMR,13C NMR,MS and FT-IR.The optimum synthetic condition was determined by NMR results,and the reaction temperature is 30?,the molar ratio of epoxy:KSCN is 1:1.5,the reaction time is20h and the yield of product is 71.2%.The thermal curing behaviors of ES/EOPS are investigated by FT-IR spectrums and the results show that episulfide group is easier to undergo ring-opening polymerization comparing with epoxy group.The homopolymer has a refractive index of 1.66.The dielectric constant and dielectric loss?under 1MHz?of the cured ES/EOPS product without catalyst are 8.93 and 0.00605,and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss of BDMA?N,N-Dimethylbenzylamine?-catalyzed ES/EOPS thermosetting are 9.64 and 0.00902.
