Graphite ore containing vanadium is aunique graphite resource, and vanadium is anassociated componentin graphite ore.It will be of great significanceto conduct beneficiation experiments on the fine flaky graphite ore whose dissemination grain size is very fine, symbiotic relationship is complex, and components contains vanadium. This paper studied pre-enrichment experiments of vanadium while conducted graphite beneficiation experiments on graphite ore containing vanadium, and confirmed the best beneficiation flowsheet to recover graphite and vanadium synthetically.Using analysis methods including XRF,XRD,observation under microscope, electronic probe, etc, properties of raw ore was studied, such as chemical components, mineral composition as well as characteristics, occurrence state of vanadium, and so on.The study indicated that fixed carbon?FC?content of raw ore was 12.71%,and the grade of V2O5 was 0.30%.Main minerals in raw ore were graphite, quartz and muscovite, whose content were 13%,34%and 35%,respectively.And graphite was symbiotic intimately with quartz and muscovite. The dissemination particle size of graphite was fine, and 87%graphite particle sizes were less than 25 micron.Vanadium mainly occurred in muscovite, and nearly no vanadium occurred in graphite. The best graphite flotation experimental conditions and technological process were determined by rougher tests,open-circuit tests and closed-circuit tests on raw ore.Effect factors including coarse grind fineness, reagent dosage and flotation pulp density were studied in rougher tests, and then the best rougher conditions were confirmed. The best coarse grind fineness was that the content of-0.074mm fraction accounted for 92.17%,the optimal dosage of kerosene and terpenic oil were 308g/t and 148g/t,respectively,and flotation pulp density was 25%.The factors including regrind fineness, cleaner reagent dosage and regrind concentration were studied in open-circuit tests and two open-circuit experimental flowsheets were selected as valid options.By closed-circuit tests and options comparison, the optimized graphite flotation test flowsheet was confirmed, that is,a coarse grinding and a rough flotation were conducted on raw ore,then,six-stage regrinds and seven-stage cleaner flotations were conducted on rougher concentrate, the mixture of middling 1 to middling 4 was regrinded and a scavenger flotation was conducted on it,the scavenger concentrate was returned to rough flotation, middling 5 to middling 8 were returned to the1stregrindto the 4thregrind,respectively.FC content of graphite concentrate was92.01%,and recovery was 91.25%.FC content of tailing 1 and tailing 2 were 0.66%and 1.60%,respectively.And V2O5 grade of tailing 1 and tailing 2 were 0.40%and0.36%,respectively.Graphite flotation tailing was the raw material in thepre-enrichment experiments of vanadium, whose V2O5 grade was 0.38%.The pre-enrichment experiments of vanadium included rough tests, cleaner flotation tests, scavenging tests and closed-circuit tests. And the purpose of the experiments was to get the best closed-circuit experimental conditions and technological process. The optimized pre-enrichment experimental flowof vanadium was confirmed, that is,a rough test was conducted on graphite tailing, followed by a cleaner flotation test on rough concentrate, and then a scavenging test was conducted on the mixture of cleaner tailing and rough tailing, and scavenging concentrate was returned back to cleaner flotation.Through the flow, muscovite concentrate containing vanadium could be obtained, whose V2O5 grade was 0.79%,and recovery was 62.04%.Through this test study,a comprehensive recovery experimental flowthat could produce graphite concentrate and muscoviteconcentrate containing vanadium with high index was confirmed, providing technical support for reasonable utilization of the graphite ore containing vanadium.
