The structure of high-loft non-woven fabrics is special,the fiber web is vertical which lead to the good compression and compression recovery performance,as well as short process flow,low production cost.It is a kind of new environmental friendly material.High-loft non-woven fabrics appear frequently in our daily life now,they are widely used in air filter materials,cushion filing materials,heat&sound insulation materials,and all kinds of clothing lining etc..Therefore,its compression performance is an important indicator of the quality of its products.At present,there is no uniform standard about the compression performance test of high-loft non-woven fabrics.The paper aims at problems that researches on compression properties of high loft non-woven fabrics are not deep enough and lack of special test device,researching compression properties of high loft non-woven fabric and its testing method.According to the structure characteristics of high loft non-woven fabrics,first design and made testing device for testing high loft non-woven fabrics' compression performance.Using the device to test different materials(fiber assembly,sponge)and different high loft non-woven fabrics with different proportioning(A58,AF12,AF16,AY6,AY86).The experimental results show that the compression recovery curve of different materials are obviously different,the same material with different proportioning are also different,which are mainly related to fiber morphological structure,the arrangement of fibers,and production process etc..The characteristics of it make the compression recovery performance is better than sponge,it can take the place of sponge and be applied to various material fields;compression recovery curves can be divided into three stages: initial stage,transition stage,pressure modulus of linear increasing stage.According to the curves,coming up with new characteristic values that can symbolize high loft non-woven fabrics' compression&recovery performance,and make detailed analysis on it,then found that the slop of compression&recovery curves' first stage can be the characteristic value.The larger the slope of compression&recovery curve is,the smaller the compression resilience rate is,the worse the compression performance is.The larger the slop's difference between compression and recovery curve is,the greater the compression resilience rate is,the better the compression performance is.This paper presents a test method of high-loft non-woven fabrics' compression performance,and develop a testing device for the compression performance,also propose a new index to symbolize materials' compression&recovery performance.The research results can be applied to improve the quality of high-loft non-woven fabrics,and provide theoretical and practical support for the establishment of high-loft non-woven fabrics' testing standards and evaluation system.When finally being applied to reality,the process parameters can be formulated from the application in order to achieve the purpose of saving cost and being scientific applications.
