The Influence Of Media Use And Public Perception Of Environmental Pollution Levels On Public Evaluation Of Government's Environmental Performance

The main purpose of this study is to discuss the relationship between media use and public evaluation of government's environmental performance.In order to test whether the public perception of environmental pollution levels play a mediating role in the relationship between media use and public evaluation of government's environmental performance,"media use,public perception of environmental pollution levels,public evaluation of government's environmental performance " mediation model will be lead up to the study.Based on the survey data of CGSS in 2013,this study was conducted through Logistic regression analysis and mediating effect test,and found that:1.The study found that demographic variables influence public evaluation of government's environmental performance: The greater the age of the public,the more satisfied with government's environmental performance.The higher the income of the public,the more negative to the performance of the central government.The higher the education of the public,the more information it has come into contact with,so that the environmental performance evaluation of the central and local government is more prudent.Party members have a high evaluation on government environmental performance.2.The use of traditional media has no significant negative impact on the public environmental performance evaluation of the central government.the use of new media significantly negatively affects the public's environmental performance evaluation of the central government.the use of traditional media does not significantly affect the public's environmental performance evaluation of the local government.the use of new media has a significant negative impact on public environmental protection.Performance evaluation.3.The use of media has a significant positive impact on the public perception of environmental pollution levels,Specifically,the traditional media and new media have a positive impact on public perception of environmental pollution levels.4.The public perception of environmental pollution levels plays a masking effect in the relationship between traditional media use and public's environmental performance evaluation of the central government.The public perception of environmental pollution levels was a partly mediator between new media use and public's environmental performance evaluation of the central government.The public perception of environmental pollution levels plays a masking effect in the relationship between traditional media use and public's environmental performance evaluation of the local government.The public's cognition of environment pollution has mediating effect between new media use and public evaluation of local government environment performance.The public perception of environmental pollution levels plays an intermediary role in the relationship between new media use and public's environmental performance evaluation of the local government.This study found a way that media use affects public's environmental performance evaluation of the local government,which affects the public's evaluation of the government by influencing the perception of the environment pollution.In order to improve the public's evaluation of government environment work,the paper proposes two paths,one is to improve the national governance capacity,and the other is to improve the relationship between the government,the media and the public.
