With the development of calcium carbide technology and the adjustment of national industrial policy,aiming at energy saving,low cost and further research of noval technology become the only route for the calcium carbide industry during "the 13 th Five-Year period".This paper studies the development and application of new technology where improvements on energy saving,low consumption and emission reduction can be made,based on the calcium carbide production process,which include raw material preparation,batching,drying of carbon-based material,calcinations of lime stone,electric arc furnace smelting,exhaust gas utilization and purification.Conclusions are as follows:(1)the improvement of the raw material treatment technology reduces the loss caused by the two inversion of raw materials and reduces the effect of the powder feeding on the permeability of the carbide furnace layer.According to the physical and chemical properties of the raw materials,the ratio of different material ratio is formulated to speed up the reaction speed of the calcium carbide generation;according to the different raw materials,reasonable The geometric parameters and electrical parameters of the electric furnace are set up,and the process control model suitable for the electric furnace is found.The automation of the furnace operation is improved and the working condition of the smelting is stable.(2)according to the electric process parameters of the furnace,the diameter of the 9000 mm electrode shell of the furnace is 1350 mm,the diameter of the 4200 mm furnace is 3200 mm,the formula of the electrode paste is adjusted,and the main parameters of the electrode paste suitable for this electric furnace are found,and the normal production of the calcium carbide smelting is ensured.Carbon-based material are dried with high temperature exhausting gas from rotary kiln.The comprehensive utilization of energy leads to the reduction of investment cost and energy consumption.(3)It is reasonable to adjust the layout of the terminal terminal of the transformer and the structure of the platform,so as to make the transformer as close as possible to the electrode arrangement,cancel the compensation and short network,only keep the water cable,greatly shorten the length of the short network.After calculating the 40500 kVA closed calcium carbide furnace,it saves about 2614 tons of electric energy per year.(4)The standard coal consumption can be reduced by 16.25 thousand tons per year by the application of self-dependent innovation technology of direct combustion rotary gas for the calcination of line stone.The utilization of furnace gas then purification can not only make use of sensible heat,but also avoid insecurity in the process of furnace gas purification.(5)recovery and utilization of the apparent heat produced in the cooling process of calcium carbide tub after the calcium carbide is discharged from the furnace.The waste heat boiler is used to generate electricity,and the annual energy saving standard coal is about 11712.84 tons,which provides a new direction for the enterprises to save energy and reduce the cost of production.
