With the rapid development of economy, the non-compliance of industrial production wastewater discharge has made water pollution more serious. In order to solve the problem of heavy metal emission and pollution,an activated carbon fiber electrode capacitive deionization technology?CDI?was studied.A voltage is applied between a pair of electrodes. In the liquid phase, the negative and positive ions respectively migrate toward the positive and negative electrode surfaces and are adsorbed to form an electric double layer, which is removed from the aqueous solution. There have been no reports of simultaneous removal of organic contaminants in capacitive deionization techniques. In particular, studies on the use of recycled metal components to improve the removal efficiency of organic materials have not been reported.Based on capacitive deionization technology of activated carbon fiber electrode, this paper innovatively combines electrocatalysis to remove heavy metal ions and organic pollutants simultaneously.Using activated carbon fiber as electrode material, the effects of operating conditions?voltage, influent flow, initial concentration, and pH?on electrodeionization were investigated. The physico-chemical properties and electrochemical properties of activated carbon fiber before and after titanium dioxide modification were compared. The removal effect of(Cu2+/citric acid)complex heavy metal and organic pollution before and after the modification of titanium dioxide. The result is as follows:?1?After TiO2 modification, the roughness of carbon fiber surface is increased;the main surface TiO2 of carbon fiber surface is anatase crystal, and the structure of carbon fiber material itself has little change after loading TiO2.The electrochemical performance test of the material shows that the modified activated carbon fiber of TiO2 is helpful to improve the capacitance of the material, but it has increased. The mass transfer resistance in the working electrode.?2?The effects of operating conditions:with the increase of voltage, the better the removal of copper, the better the effect of copper removal, the reduction of copper ion in the voltage 1.2V;the greater the flow rate of the influent, the faster the adsorption rate, but the larger the initial concentration of the solution, the greater the electrical adsorption capacity of the electrode;the smaller the pH,the H+and copper in the solution. The formation of competitive adsorption of ions is not conducive to the removal of copper ions.?3?The effects of four kinds of combination methods of ACF-ACF,TiO2/ACF-ACF,ACF-TiO2/ACF and ACF/TiO2-ACF/TiO2?cathode—anode?on the removal rate of copper ions and citric acid were compared. The removal rates of copper ions were 89.06%,95.64%,73.65%and 93.25%respectively.The removal rates of COD were 38.46%,62.92%,14.37%and 33.16%,respectively.
