In this work,we chose three of N2O4-type compartmental Schiff base as terminal ligands and K3[Fe?CN?6]as bridging ligand,and we synthesized twenty two heterotrimetallic complexes by different bridging patterns of[Fe?CN?6]3-.All the complexes were characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction,and some of them were characterized by magnetic susceptibility,spectroscopy analysis and fluorescence analysis.The specific contents are shown as follows:With cyanide bridges from the tridentate ligand[Fe?CN?6]3-,two 1D chainlike complexes have been synthesized using Cu?II?-Ce?III?dinuclear building block stablized by compartmental Schiff base ligand.Spectroscopy analyses revealed that both of them have optical activity.With cyanide bridges from the bidentate ligand[Fe?CN?6]3-,six dimmeric and two1D chainlike complexes have been synthesized using Cu?II?-Ln?III?dinuclear building block stablized by chiral or achiral compartmental Schiff base ligand.Magnetic studies revealed the ferromagnetic interactions between Cu?II?and Gd?III?through cyanide bridges in complex 7.With cyanide bridges from the monodentate ligand[Fe?CN?6]3-,twelve complexes have been synthesized using Cu?II?-Ln?III?dinuclear building block stablized by chiral or achiral compartmental Schiff base ligand.Magnetic studies revealed antiferromagnetic interactions between Fe???and Gd???through cyanide bridges(JFe-Gd=-0.15 cm-1)and ferromagnetic interactions between Cu???and Gd???through phenolate bridges(JCu-Gd=3.50 cm-1)in complex 11.Spectroscopy analyses revealed that some of the 12 complexes had optical activity.
