The melting of inert-gas welding(MIG)is widely applied in many fields of the manufacturing industry,meanwhile the digital MIG welding machines are also used in the welding workshop.The well-designed welding process could ensure the high quality of welded joint,which can be obtained via the process design system.Meanwhile,the real-time monitoring of process parameters could provide important data for welding production quality management.This paper designed and developed the Ethernet-based process design and monitoring system for MIG Welding,based on a certain requirement of enterprise production.First of all,the system programming tools,application modes and development tools are determined according to the demand analysis of system.Then the overall framework of system is designed,which includes four modules: system welding process design,welding monitoring,database and knowledge base management and user management.Secondly,the system knowledge is classified as basic knowledge,rule knowledge and special knowledge of welding machine,which is according to the specific characteristics of MIG welding process and digital welding machine.The knowledge acquisition method,knowledge representation and knowledge maintenance algorithm are determined,respectively.The system reasoning method and inference control strategy are developed,with the necessity judgment algorithm of welding procedure qualification.Then this paper finished the reasoning process of welding process design and the transformation to determined welding process.Then the Flash socket technology is used to achieve the instant messaging according to the Ethernet application layer protocol.The real-time data is transformed to the dynamic curves and communicated with the process design system,which could warn the beyond-threshold of parameters and breakdown of welding machine.The real-time data and monitoring data storage structure are designed using the principles of database design.The functions,such as quick inquiry,data export to Excel and playback of waveform,and the historical data sampling storage method are developed.Finally,the user interface is designed and developed to ensure the friendly operability of system,which includes welding process design,welding monitoring,database and knowledge base management and user management,respectively.Meanwhile,a management mechanism of User-Roles-Permissions is established,to guarantee the system security and the integrity and reliability of knowledge database.
