With stricter and stricter environmental protection policy of gas pollutant's emission, the refinery's pressure of environmental protection is becoming heavier and heavier.Hence the near-zero emission of the refinery will become the inevitable trend.Based on introduction to origin, type, feature, hazard and influence factor of refinery gas pollutant as well as description of emission ways and computational methods of gas pollutant,a new approach of study on emission control has been proposed that defining pollutant, detecting pollution source, accounting pollutant emissions, comparing with emission standards and updating technology are to realize near-zero emission. In this paper, the emission and control of air pollutants in refineries are analyzed in general and the emission and control of pollutants are studyed by means of investigatio n and comparison. Therefore, the goal of almost near-zero emission of refinery gas pollutants is put forward.Based on the different emission patterns of air pollutants in refineri es.We determined that the major pollutants in the organized emissions are sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, whose sources are catalytic cracking units, boilers and heating furn aces;and the main pollutant in unorganized emission is organic volatile, whose sources a re storage tank area, production plant area, loading and unloading area and wastewater a rea.On behalf of the present situation of the emission of gas pollutants in different emission forms, the problems are analyzed which was existing in the management and technical aspects of the organized and unorganized emissions of refineries. And the ideas and technical methods are put forward to solve the problems.Organized emission can achieve the current environmental standards using the end gas treatment technology. However, the emission control for some device is close to the limit. In order to achieve further emission control, comprehensive approach including source treatment, process treatment and end treatment needs to be implemented.Source treatment and process treatment is the main approach of unorganized emmission control.Unorganized emission needs to be transfered to organized emission through technology improvement. The end use recovery and removal technology could achieves emission control for volatile organic compounds. In the meantime, from the aspects of economic efficiency, environmental protection, governance technology and others, this paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges of refinery near-zero emissions of air pollutants, which confirming that the near-zero emissions of air pollutants in refining enterprises will be an inevitable trend.
