The increasing attention has been paid to the effect of greenhouse gas resulting from human activities on global climate change.As a big province in manufacturing,Hubei province is in a period of social transformation,production mode and technology are experiencing significant changes.The external constraint of carbon emission is intertwined with internal demand of technological innovation;therefore,exploring the issue of carbon emission from the perspective of technology and analyzing the effect of technology innovation on carbon emission help to enhance the scientificity and operability of decisions on carbon reduction,which can make a better contribution to the harmonious development of society,resource and environment.Based on the relevant studies and theories on technology innovation and carbon emission,this thesis analyzed the influence factors of carbon emission and discussed the influence path of technology innovation on carbon emission from the aspects of low-carbon technology,economic development and industrial structure,and energy structure.On the basis of theoretical model of STIRPAT,this thesis selected technology innovation input,technology innovation output and environment of technology innovation as technology innovation factors and established evaluation index system to explore the effect of technology innovation on carbon emission using ridge regression as the quantitative analysis method.With Hubei province as empirical study object,this thesis analyzed its current situation of technology innovation and carbon emission and calculated the different effect extent of different technology innovation factors on carbon emission.The empirical results indicated that population quantity and affluence level have a positive correlation with carbon emission;technology innovation input,technology innovation output and environment of technology innovation have a negative correlation with carbon emission.According to the theoretical study and empirical results,this thesis made some suggestions to accelerate the development of low-carbon development of Hubei province from the perspective of technology innovation.The content of this thesis is as follows: Chapter one is introduction.This chapter introduced the research background,purpose and significance of this thesis.It also made an overview on current research situation of technology innovation and carbon emission and summarized the research contents and research methods of this thesis.Chapter two is the basic theories of technology innovation's effect on carbon emission.This chapter mainly elaborated the Environmental Kuznets Curve(EKC)and low carbon economic theory,explores the impact of technological innovation on carbon emissions by analyzing the impact factors of carbon emissions and the path of impact of technological innovation on carbon emissions.Chapter three is the model of the impact of technological innovation on carbon emissions.This chapter mainly established extended model of STIRPAT,evaluation index system and the quantitative analysis method of ridge regression.Chapter four is the empirical analysis of the effect of technology innovation on carbon emission.This chapter introduced the current situation of both technology innovation and carbon emission,calculated the effect extent of technology innovation on carbon emission and made an analysis and explanation of empirical results.Chapter five is the empirical results.This chapter put forward some suggestions to facilitate the development of low-carbon development of Hubei province on the basis of the previous theoretical analysis.Chapter six is the conclusions and research prospects.This chapter mainly analyzed the shortage of this thesis and pointed out the possible directions for future researches.
