In view of the jet divergence and impingement problems for hard and brittle materials in the processing of parts with complex surfaces polishing,a new method of strongly constrained abrasive jet polishing is proposed.And a new polishing device was designed based on the new method.the internal nozzle abrasive flow and the fluid on the surface of the workpiece at different polishing gap was simulated by using FLUENT software.And experiments of the fluid on the surface of the workpiece at different polishing gap were carried out by particle image velocimetry system.An experiment platform was set up to study the effect of polishing device for machining of hard and brittle materials.Results of the internal nozzle abrasive flow simulation and experiment shows:polishing device can improve the fluid velocity,The pressure and velocity distribution at the exit and outlet velocity is give priority to with shear velocity wihch parallel to the workpiece surface.The roughness value of hard and brittle material has greatly reduced after polishing device processing.The texture of workpiece surface is smooth and bright,scratches and pits disappeared.The polishing device has reasonable structure design and there are obvious effects in practical application.Results of the fluid on the surface of the workpiece at different polishing gap simulations and experiment shows: The velocity and dynamic pressure of the fluid on the surface of the workpiece have increased Along with the reduce of polishing gap.And the distribution of fluid is more concentrated,better uniformity,the particle movement more rules.But the small gap will cause reflux polishing.So 1mm is the best choice of polishing gap.Aiming at the machining of hard and brittle materials,an unique polishing device was designed in this paper,it is good to solves the problems of jet divergence and impingement and reduce the impact of abrasion on the surface of workpiece,it promoted the development of manufacturing technology and the progress of competitive processing and advanced processing technology.Research on the method of constraint of abrasive jet is still in the stage of exploration,and the removal mechanism of the surface of workpiece can be the entry point of depth study.
