Because of the excellent physical and chemical properties,the ceramic products have been widely used in many fields,such as aviation,aerospace,communication,oil chemical,electric power,metallurgy,machinery,modern biological medicine and so on.The ceramic materials is extremely difficult to machine due to its high hardness and brittleness.In order to obtain the ceramic products with high precision,high surface quality,high efficiency,and low cost in the processing,it is necessary to investigate the processing theory and technology of ceramic materials.In this thesis,the processing experiment and theoretical analysis for typical zirconia products,including the shaft and bearing ring,are carried out.Firstly,the development and application of the ceramic products were presented,and the processing technology and the problems existing in the processing were summarized in this paper.Then,the characteristics of zirconia ceramic material and the removal way including several processing methods were introduced.Besides,the preparation of the blank of zirconia products and the mechanism of grinding and cutting were presented detailly.Secondly,the processing technology for the ceramic products including ceramic shaft and ceramic bearing ring,and each procedure in the processing was illustrated in detail.Thirdly,several experimental methods for analyzing the grinding force of zirconia ceramic bearing ring were applied.In the experiment,the Kistler rotation dynamometer was used for measuring the grinding forces,and the influences of the sand size and grinding wheel linear velocity on grinding force were investigated.An empirical grinding force formula as the function of the depth of grinding,grinding wheel linear velocity,axial vibration velocity and grinding grain size was deduced by the orthogonal experiment,and the effects of grinding parameters on internal grinding force were presented.Fourthly,the processing experiment of the zirconia ceramics shaft was carried out.The diamond tool was used to process cylindrical face and end face.The Taylor Hobson roughness detector was used to measure the surface roughness value.The influences of the cutting depth,workpiece speed,feed rate and cutting way on the roughness of cylindrical surface and end surface was analyzed by using single factor experiment method,and the influence degree was expressed by the response table.Then,the optimal parameters for processing end face was obtained.In conclusion,the influence of the processing conditions and parameters on the grinding force and the surface roughness were investigated in this thesis by the experiment test and theoraical analysis.The grinding and cutting mechanisms in the processing of the zirconia ceramic products were presented comprehensively,and the related processing theory was improved,which had an important significance on the extensive application of ceramic materials.
