Abstract:As the environmental issues become increasingly prominent, environmental effect of trade has been the hot spots for trade is one of the most active parts of China's economy. What's the mechanisms of the environmental effects of export and import activities? Is there any different environmental impact from different trade partners of China? How to coordinate the development of trade and environment protection as the reform and opening-up is in the deepening stage? These problems must be answered in the new stage. Therefore,we constructed a multi-regional input-output model(MRIO model)between China and its major trading partners, using carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide and other pollutants as pollution emission indicators in order to calculate the embodied pollution of China's trade. And we also computed the transfer the embodied pollution of China. In addition, the trade pollution conditions(PTT)is introduced to eliminate the impact of trade scale, and describe the trade pollution conditions of China's foreign trade in different regional and sub sectors. Some basic conclusions drawn from this paper include:Firstly,China has been a net exporter of trade implied pollution from 2000 to 2011,while the United States, the European Union and Japan belong to a net importer of trade implied pollution, and the other regions of Asia and the rest of the world belong to the balance of trade implied pollution.Secondly, the United States, the European Union and Japan have transferred pollution to China through bilateral trade.China has become the "pollute paradise" of developed countries. From the absolute point of view, the European Union has transferred the most hidden pollutants to China.Thirdly,in terms of the overall situation of trade pollution, most of the pollution conditions between China and the United States,China and Europe and China and Japan are more than 1,that is,bilateral trade worsens China's environment and improves the environment of the United States, the EU and Japan.China has different trade pollution conditions with other Asian regions in terms of accounting for different pollution indicators.Fourthly, the industries with the most serious trade pollution between China and different countries are not exactly the same, but the trade with different trading partners, such as the mining industry, has greatly increased the emissions of pollutants in China. The service trade pollution conditions between China and the United States and China are all greater than 1,which indicates that the service trade between China and the United States and the central Europe aggravates the emission of pollutants in China, while the trade pollution conditions between China and Japan are more than 1,and the agricultural, forestry and pastoral fisheries have greater impact on China's environment.
