Two kinds of polymerizable cationic emulsifier methyl-propylene glyoxyethyl dimethyl ammonium bromide(CPE14C)and methyl-propylene glyoxyethyl dimethyl dodecyl ammonium bromide(CPE12C)was synthesized from methyl-methacrylate?DMAEMA?,bromotetradecane?TB?and bromododecane?DB?,respectively.Cationic nanohomopolyme(P(CPE14C)),cationic nanopolymethyl methacrylate(P(CPE14C-MMA)),cationic nanopolyacrylate P(CPE14C-MA)),cationic nanopolystyrene(P(CPE14C-St))and cationic nanopolyacrylonitrile(P(CPE14C-AN))was synthesized through emulsion polymerization of P(CPE14C)and itself,methyl methacrylate?MMA?,methyl acrylate?MA?,styrene?St?and acrylonitrile?AN?.The structure of obtained polymers were characterized by1H nuclear magnetism resonances?1H-NMR?,and Fourier transformed infrared?FT-IR?to certify its structure consistent with target product.The thermal stability of polymer was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis?TG?.The electrical characteristic and particle size of obtained polymers were analyzed by Zeta potentiometer and nanometer measurement.These results suggest that the obtained polymers were nanostructure polymers and their surfaces were positive.The antibacterial ability of polymers which were synthesized from polymerizable cationic emulsifier and carring positive charge in surface were tested through double broth dilution method.Escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus were adopted as test strains.The results suggest that all of the cationic nanopolymers have excellent antibacterial ability.It was found that the antibacterial ability of P(CPE14C)carrying longer alkyl chain was better than P(CPE12C).The minimum concentration of P(CPE14C)that can be antibiotic against Escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus were 0.0625 mg/mL and 0.0312 mg/mL,respectively.The polymer synthesized from CPE14Cand St showed better antibacterial ability than polymers synthesized from CPE14Cand MMA and MA.The antibacterial effect of polymer emulsion was enhanced by increasing the polymerizable cation emulsifier content.In addition,the antibacterial effects of polymers with Staphylococcus aureus were better than those with Escherichia coli.When Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were adopted as test strains,5%solid content P(CPE14C)and 10%solid content P(CPE14C-St)was diluted to different concentration and then loaded to sterilized ordinary medical grade gauze,cotton non-woven fabric and water spines non woven fabric to investigate their antibacterial ability.The results suggested that the bacterial in ordinary medical grade gauze,cotton non-woven fabric and water spines non-woven fabric could all be killed when the loaded concentration of P(CPE14C)on them were 0.7mg/cm2,0.3mg/cm2,and 0.3mg/cm2.In addition,the bacterial in ordinary medical grade gauze,cotton non-woven fabric and water spines non-woven fabric could all be killed when the loaded concentration of P(CPE14C-St)on them were 2.0mg/cm2,2.0 mg/cm2,and 3.0 mg/cm2.The fat and fascia in the surface of bought pork fillet which was set as raw material to investigate the antibacterial ability of synthesized polymer was removed using sterilized knife and chopping board.The low toxicity cationic nanopolymers which are easy to wash and carry positive charge in surface were load to the surface of pork fillet.The pH,water loss rate,sensory evaluation and total colony count of pork fillet were then studied.The results suggested that the added preservative can significantly enhance the antibacterial ability of samples.What's more,in comparison of untreated pork,the shelf life of hot fresh pork loaded with P(CPE14C)can be extended to 12 days.
