Inflammatory cytokines have two coins.On the one hand,inflammatory factors are an integral part of the defense sysetm.On the other hand,overexpression and accumulation of inflammatory cytokines cause uncontrolled destruction of cells and tissues,leading to autoimmune disorders,chronic inflammation,cancer and other related diseases.When microorganisms invade the body,they can rapidly induce massive expression of many inflammatory cytokines,such as IL-1,IL-6,TNF-α,IL-8,etc,excessive inflammatory cytokines can cause inflammatory factor storms in vivo,deteriorating to serious diseases,even death.Therefore,the study on inflammatory factor adsorbent has important clinical significance.In this paper,Polystyrene/Nano-CaCO3 composite adsorbent was synthesized through suspension polymerization method.The scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FITR),pore size distribution,physical parameter determination and particle shedding experiments were used to characterize the structure of our adsorbent and analysis its properties.In order to estimate its adsorption performance,in vitro static and dynamic adsorption of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,and IL-8 in simulated serum and plasma were performed using polystyrene-free adsorbent with nano-calcium carbonate and commercially available Cytosorb as a control adsorption were conducted to investigate the of the composite adsorbent.The blood compatibility of the adsorbent was evaluated by experiments such as coagulation,hemolysis,blood routine,and blood biochemistry.As a new type of nanocomposite adsorbent,PS-DVB/Nano-CaCO3 composite adsorbebt has high specific surface area and well-developed mesoporous structure.In vitro and in vivo static adsorption studies of inflammatory cytokines TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6 and IL-8 showed that nanocomposite resins can efficiently remove these inflammatory factors.Owing to its well-developed mesoporous structure,nanocomposite...
