Design Of A Device For Rapid Measurement Of Mud Content Of Base Sand

In the foundry production,the mud content of base sand is one of the important indicators affecting the quality of the casting.If the mud content is too high,the pass rate of castings will be directly or indirectly reduced.Therefore,it is necessary to properly control the mud content of the base sand,and it is the primary technical link to accurately,quickly and conveniently detect it.Based on the principle of rapid detection of mud content in base sand and vortex-type mud-sand separation technology,an automatic detection device for the mud content of the base sand is designed.The device is mainly composed of automatic sand washing system(including automatic water adding and siphon system and stirring system),automatic weighing system,lifting mechanism and central control system.Firstly,the shape and volume of the automatic water supply tank in the automatic sand washing system were determined through experiments,and the inner diameter of the water supply pipe and the siphon pipe and the liquid level detection position were determined.Automatic mixing system and weighing system are designed(the liquid level probe in the weighing system acts as preventing liquid flow in the stirring system),and the two systems are combined with the automatic sand washing system to complete the mechanical structure design of the detecting device.Then use this mechanical structure as a framework to design a central control system for rapid detection of mud content.The hardware of the unit is mainly STC89C52 MCU,1602 liquid crystal display,PCF8591 T A/D converter,reset circuit,clock circuit and peripheral expansion circuit.Combined with the coordination function of the hardware system,the C51 language is used to design the software of the central control system.The software mainly consists of the main program and the button subroutine,the LCD display subroutine,the automatic weighing quantum program(including the liquid level detecting subroutine and the A/D conversion subroutine),and the automatic sand washing subroutine.Finally,the detection device and the standard detection method were used to detect the mudcontent of the original sand,and the experimental data were compared and analyzed.And the results show that the consistency of the mud content measured by the rapid test method and the standard test method is 97.5% under the condition of the T test.
