In recent years,Chinese economic development is increasingly rapid,the furniture industry is advancing with the times,new furniture make and decorate materials continue to spring up.In the market of interior decoration materials,the variety and quality of different materials vary greatly,The environmental performance of all kinds of materials is unpredictable when people choose materials.And most VOCs are colorless and tasteless,the release amount is very small and the harm to human body is also a process of quantity accumulation.This paper examines VOCs in different household products(solid wood furniture,compound board furniture and soft furniture(mattress))and coatings(oil paint,water paint,curing agent,board glue and thinner).GC-MS was used to high-throughput synchronous screening and analysis the content of 93 VOCs target compounds in different samples and identify the source of VOCs in furniture.The VOCs target compounds mainly include benzene series(27 species),aromatic alcohols&fatty alcohols(14 species),halohydrocarbons(12 species),terpenes(12 species),alkanes(12 species),esters(13 species)and typical aldehydes and ketones(4 species).The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The adsorption efficiency of five adsorbents(CarbotrapTM,Activated carbon,CarbosieveTMS-III,Carbopack B/CarbosieveTMS-III and Tenax TA)was studied.CarbotrapTM was found to have poor collection efficiency for ethyl acetate;The repeatability of activated carbon desorption behavior was poor;CarbosieveTMS-III had poor adsorption capacity for macromolecular organics,so the organics were easy to penetrate.Tenax TA has poor adsorptive property for small molecular compounds(acetone,dichloromethane,3-methyl pentane,ethyl acetate,n-butanol,b enzol)and terpenes(?-pinene,?-pinene,carene).CarbopackB/CarbosieveTMS-III adsorbent showed better adsorption effect,in the range of study,almost all VOCs do not penetrate and show excellent adsorption ability..(2)Carbopack B/CarbosieveTMS-III adsorption tubes were used to establish the detection methods for benzene series,aromatic alcohols,fatty alcohols,halohydrocarbons,terpenes,alkanes,esters and typical aldehydes and ketones VOCs.And the penetrativity,detection limit and linear ranges,recovery and precision are studied.(3)Xylene,ethylbenzene and other benzene series and cyclohexane alkanes are the main VOCs in the composite panel furniture,and it's concentration of TVOC is 23.93 mg/m3-47.85mg/m3.Contrast VOCs in raw materials,the VOCs in the coating are basically the same as the VOCs volatilized from the panel furniture,which are mainly affected by the thinner.Compared with VOCs in primary color board,the detected concentration of TVOC is 2.66mg/m3,indicating that VOCs in composite board furniture mainly come from coatings.The solvents used in the coating cover benzene series,halohydrocarbons,terpenes,alkanes,esters and alcohols,etc.During the application of the coating,the solvents volatilize and become one of the important sources of VOCs in furniture.(4)It was found that 41 kinds of VOCs were detected in the real wood furniture with oil paint.The concentration of TVOC was 7.14 ?g/m3,mainly composed of esters such as ethyl acetate and n-butyl acetate,benzene series such as benzol,methylbenzene and ethylbenzene and alkanes.26 kinds of VOCs were detected in water paint solid wood furniture and the concentration of TVOC was 151.76 ?g/m3,mainly composed of tetrachloroethylene,1,2-Dichloropropane and dichlorobenzene.The type and concentration of VOCs detected in water paint solid wood furniture are far lower than that in oily lacquered solid wood furniture.(5)The TVOC detected in soft furniture was 523.96 ?g/m3-684.48 ?g/m3,and the contents of tetrachloroethylene,n-heptane,methylbenzene,xylene and 1-propanol were higher.Various coatings were not used in the soft furniture,the raw materials containing VOCs such as flame retardants,dyes and additives are used in the fabric manufacturing process,and the VOCs content detected was significantly lower than that of board furniture and solid wood furniture.(6)Q Exactive GC-Orbitrap MS was used to analyz the VOCs in different furniture coatings.The contents of benzene series such as xylene,ethylbenzene and esters such asn-butyl acetate were the highest in the oil paint.The water paint is mainly composed of benzene series such as xylene and esters VOCs.The proportion of benzene series VOCs in oil paint is larger than that of water paint,it is the important characteristic part that differentiates two kinds of coating.Curing agent are mainly halohydrocarbons,benzene series and ester VOCs.The main components of the board glue are hydroxyaceton,ethyl acetate and xylene.The thinner were mainly xylene,ethylbenzene and other benzene series and esters VOCs.The benzene series VOCs such as xylene and ethylbenzene were the main VOCs in different coatings.
