Effects Of Mo,Nb And Ti Elements On Microstructure And Properties Of FeAlCuCrNi-X High-Entropy Alloys

Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,the development and research of metal materials have become more and more gentle,but with the development of technology,new alloys with better properties are still waiting to be developed.As a new type of alloy,the design concept of high entropy alloy breaks through the design mode of the traditional alloy which used to be dominated by a kind of alloy element,and the high entropy alloy have high hardness,high strength,high temperature creep resistance,wear resistance,corrosion resistance and other excellent properties by adjusting the composition of the alloy.It has become one of the most promising new structural materials in the future.However,high-entropy alloys are still in the experimental research stage,and the theoretical system is not perfect yet.In order to expand the research scope of multi-principal alloy,Fe,Al,Cu,Cr and Ni was used as the main control element and Mo,Nb,Ti as the regulating element.Microstructure and properties of alloy surfacing layer was analyzed by changing the content of Mo,Nb and Ti.In this paper,FeAlCuCrNi-X high entropy alloy was prepared by surfacing welding.The microstructure,mechanical properties and corrosion resis tance of the high entropy surfacing alloy with different Mo,Nb and Ti content were studied and the following conclusions are obtained:(1)For FeAlCuCrNiMox,when Mo content is 0.8mol,the mechanical properties of alloy surfacing layer reach the best match,and the corrosion resistance of FeAlCuCrNiMo0.4is the best.For FeAlCuCrNiNbx,when the content of Nb is 0.8mol,the mechanical properties of alloy surfacing layer are the best,and the corrosion resistance of FeAlCuCrNiNb0.4 is the best.For FeAlCuCrN iTix,when Ti content is 0.8mol,the mechanical properties of alloy surfacing layer reach the best match,and the corrosion resistance of FeAlCuCrNiTi0.4 is the best.(2)For FeAlCuCrNiMox Nby,when the Mo content is 0.4mol and the Nb content is1mol,the grain size is the smallest.The mechanical properties of the surfacing layer reach the best match.The hardness of the surfacing layer is the highest which values 47.5HRC.The wear resistance is the best and the wear loss is 0.25g.It was found that FeAlCuCrNiMo0.2Nb0.8 had the highest corrosion potential and the widest corrosion range through electrochemical corrosion experiment.In other words,FeAlCuCrNiMo0.2Nb0.8 has the best corrosion resistance.(3)For FeAlCuCrNiMox Nby Tiz,the mechanical properties of the FeAlCuCrNiMo0.2-Nb0.6Ti0.8 surfacing layer to achieve the best match,the hardness value is 47.4 HRC,the wear weightlessness is 0.26 g.It was found that FeAlCuCrNuMo0.2Nb0.6Ti had the best corrosion resistance.
