Amide organic compounds have high potential in the field of tribology due to their internal functional groups, which enable amide molecules to have higher polarity and higher adsorption energy.Although the phenomenon is obvious, only a few articles have made a theoretical speculation on the mechanism of wear reduction, but there is no clear characterization to prove the mechanism of speculation. Therefore, for the friction coefficient caused by different structures is different, the previous studies have not been a clear theorem and law.Several typical amide organic compounds with basic organic chemical structures were selected. There's the length of the carbon chain and the effect of the carbon-carbon double bond. The influence of organic chemical structure of internal amides on interfacial friction behavior was investigated from the perspectives of solid selflubricating materials, lubricating oil and additives. In the aspect of solid amide,AFM atomic force microscope was used to determine the atomic arrangement morphology on the surface of solid amide, confocal microscope was used to determine the surface roughness and surface morphology,NTR friction and wear tester was used to determine the friction coefficient, and optical microscope was used to observe the morphology and wear degree before and after friction. For the liquid amide, the friction coefficient of GCr15 contact surfaces was measured by CSM friction and wear tester.Optical microscope and confocal microscope were used to observe the morphology and wear degree before and after the friction experiment, and SEM scanning electron microscope was used to further observe the morphology and wear of the wear spot. The research results show that:(1)The friction coefficient on the surface of a solid amide depends on the arrangement of atoms on the surface. The naturally cooled solid amides have regular arrangement of amides on the surface, while the polished ones have irregular arrangement. For the coefficient of friction, the coefficient of friction of the same kind of solid amide formed by natural cooling and orderly arrangement of atoms is lower, and vice versa. For different amides, the longer the carbon chain, the smaller the friction coefficient of amides.(2)At high temperatures, both liquid amides and amides as additives have certain lubricating effects when applied to the surface of GCr15.Compared with traditional lubricants, the friction coefficient decreases from 0.2 to 0.03-0.1.Furthermore,compared with traditional lubricants, the application of amides has synergistic effect with the organic chemical structure of carbon chain, which can reduce the wear rate of the surface due to the higher polarity of amides group inside.(3)Different internal structures of amides affect the tribological properties of amides themselves as solid self-lubricating materials and as base oils or additives. For solid amide materials, erucic acid amide has good tribological properties due to its double bond and long carbon chain. For liquid amide lubricant additives,a longer carbon chain can form a thicker lubrication film, which has a good anti-wear effect on the contact surface.
