As the basic industry for the economic development, energy plays a key role in promoting the modernization of the society. With the rapid development of economy, the demand for energy resources has increased greatly, which brings a series of consequent challenges to the global energy industry, such as resource shortage, environmental pollution and climate change. Therefore, improving the development and utilization level of clean energy is an effective way to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and the emissions of carbon dioxide, which can finally optimize the energy structure and promote the sustainable development of whole energy industry. The construction of clean power project guarantees the efficient delivery of the clean electrical energy, which will be an important subject with the development of power industry once the on-grid price of wind power parities with other electrical energies.Based on the facts above, this paper carries out a comprehensive analysis of the carbon emissions during the whole life cycle of wind power project according to the life-cycle assessment theory(LCA),and both the construction of wind farm project and the corresponding networking porject are taken into consideration. The carbon emissions in different life stages of the wind power project are analyzed respectively from a systematic perspective. Then,a LCA data list of wind power project is delivered to carry out the calculation of carbon emissions during the project's whole life cycle, and the sources and footprint of carbon emissions of the wind power project can also be identified.Based on the Life Cycle Assessment theory and China Life Cycle Database, this paper makes a comprehensive research on the benefit of reducing carbon emissions of wind power project, and the practical significance lies in that it can provide a certain reference and decision support for the energy sectors, power enterprises and other stakeholders from the angle of carbon emissions when carrying out related activities, such as clean energy policy-making,project feasibility studying and so on.Finally, the 49.5MW wind power project in Shi-san-jian-fang area of Xinjiang is employed for empirical analysis in Chapter 4 to discuss the project's carbon intensity and the potential of emission reductions, using the calculation models and the LCA data list established in this paper. The result shows that the carbon intensity of this wind power project is 4.429g/kwh and the potential for emission reductions throughout its life cycle reaches 2.0416 million tons in theory, which means wind power project owes huge potential for emission reductions compared with general coal-fired stations.Furthermore,on the basis of identifying the sources and footprint of carbon emissions during the whole life cycle of wind power project, the carbon intensity and potential of emission reductions of this project in different developing scenarios are discussed by utilizing the scenario analysis technology, and then,a series of suggestions on reducing the carbon emissions of wind power project are also proposed to enhance the potential of emission reductions of wind power project from the angle of Life Cycle Assessment.
