Ionic Polymer Metal Composite(IPMC)is a kind of intelligent flexible composite with the characteristics of high energy density,strong strain ability and good biocompatibility,which has been developed in recent years.It is called the"artificial muscle".In micro electric mechanical systems,bionic technology,medical equipment and many other fields.IPMC has a wide range of applications.Although it has various of advantages,its electrical response performance is still unstable and the mechanism of electric excitation is not perfect.At present,it mainly stays in the stage of laboratory research.In order to deeply understand the motion mechanism of IPMC and further improve its performance,this paper has carried out theoretical research and experimental verification on the preparation process and basic electrical properties of IPMC,and set up an experimental platform for the electrical properties of IPMC.And the equivalent circuit model of IPMC actuator is studied.The IPMC actuators of Ag electrode and Pt electrode are prepared by chemical deposition.The preparation technology of two kinds of actuators is improved by environmental control method and reduction temperature control method respectively.The samples are observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM)and energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS)to obtain the microstructure characteristics of the actuators,the electrode structure and the feature of element content.The effects of electrode type,storage environment and packaging technology on moisture content of IPMC actuator are studied.The relationship between surface resistance,interelectrode resistance and electrode thickness of the actuator is measured,and the distribution of the excitation electric field on the IPMC surface electrode is researched.The response ability of IPMC under different excitation conditions is studied.According to the function characteristics of ion migration,electrostatic force and coulomb force in the actuator,an equivalent circuit model based on the relationship between the nonlinear motion characteristics of IPMC and the response current is improved.The nonlinear current of actuator under different voltage excitation is predicted and the accuracy of the model is verified by simulation and experimental data.Through theoretical research and experimental verification,this paper has accumulated certain research results on the basic electrical properties and equivalent circuit model of IPMC.It also provides an important research basis and reference for promoting the functionalization process of IPMC device and the study of the electric-mechanical coupling mechanism.
