Along with the rapid development of CAD technology,the design efficiency of products has been greatly improved.However,with the increasing complexity of the model,the efficient of software dealing with model become lower and computer even crashes.Thus,it's need to lighten the 3D models in order to reduce the volume of model data as well as accelerate the model loading speed.Meanwhile,for the problems of assembly interference check and interrupt the external reference which caused by models,Creo functionality is flawed and does not provide an effective solution,therefore,secondary development of Creo is necessary.According to project cooperation requirements,the thesis developed a complex assembly lightweight and assembly analysis system by using Pro/Toolkit tools under the Creo 2.0 platform,the system can help designers quickly and efficiently accomplish assembly lightweight,interference check and reference interruption to improve design efficiency,the specific contents are as follows:(1)Complex assembly lightweight.Simplified model is initially obtained through feature recognition technolongy by the ways of irrelevant component suppression and suppressed according volume suppression ratio based on retaining the assembly interface,then,the tiny features such as hole and chamfering are suppressed to obtain a further simplified model,the system also provide format conversion module to enable the model can browse between different software,finally,proposed feature resume technique to ressume the integrity of the assembly.(2)The secondary development of interference check.Interference check module unable meet the demands of designers due to insufficient function of Creo,developed functions include global interference check,partial interference check,interference text output and simplified representation to achieve design requirements.(3)Interrupt external reference.A large number of external references introduced including assembly constraint references and dimensional positioning references during modeling,its loss will result in the loss of critical information and regeneration failure of the model.Based on the detailed analysis of the reasons for the failure of these two kinds of references,proposed a method which replace the references by coordinate system and datum for the purpose of interrupt the external reference and resume the readability of the model.
