In this paper,the plasma-enhanced balanced magnetron sputtering technique was used to prepare hard coating on the surface of H13 edge steel in order to achieve the goal of strong hardening of the edge surface.CrN coatings with different substrate bias,different hot wire discharge current and different target current were prepared on the surface of H13 steel.The microstructure of the coating was observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM),the structure of the coating was analyzed by X-ray diffractometer,and the effect of different experimental conditions on the wear resistance of the coating was studied by friction and wear experiments.The nano-hardness of the coating on the surface of the sample was measured.The experimental results show that with the increase of substrate bias from-50 V to-100 V,the intercrystalline defects decrease and the compactness of the coatings increases,and the preferred orientation of the coatings changes from CrN(111)to CrN(200).The nano hardness of the coating increased from 15 GPa to 27 GPa;.When the discharge current of hot wire increases from 12 A to 20 A,the density of chromium nitride coating increases,the chromium nitride coating grows vertically along the substrate surface in the form of columnar crystal,the columnar grain is refined,and the preferred orientation is changed from CrN(111)to CrN(200).Nano hardness increased from 15 GPa to 21 GPa.With the increase of the target current,the metal particles in the plasma increase,the density of the coating decreases,the nano-hardness and modulus of the coating decrease to 15 GPa and 300 Gpa respectively,and the thickness of the coating increases significantly.
