Cinnamon essential oil is an important raw material in the pharmaceutical,food and chemical industries.In this study,cinnamon barks and cinnamon leaves were used as raw materials for the cinnamon essential oil extraction.And the extraction yield of cinnamon essential oil was used as responses to optimize the extraction conditions of hydrodistillation extraction(HDE)and ultrasonic assisted hydro distillation extraction(UAHDE).It studied the mechanism of ultrasonic assisted extraction.Besides,combined with the experimental results,the extracting cinnamon oil by hydrodistillation extraction is improved.The essential oil in the wastewater is extracted by hydro distillation,making full use of heat to increase the extraction rate of essential oils,forming a cycle extraction process for zero discharge of waste liquid,waste gases and residue.The research work has important guiding significance for the extraction technology of cinnamon essential oil.A business original process of extracting cinnamon oil by HDE is improved in the study,the essential oil in the wastewater is extracted by hydro distillation,and the treated wastewater can be recycled as boiler water.Compared with the original technology,making full use of heat and reducing process energy consumption,the water consumption reduction is reduced by 50%,the energy consumption is reduced by 8.4%,and the extraction rate of essential oil is increased by 23%,and forming a cycle extraction process for zero discharge of "three wastes".Hydrodistillation extraction(HDE): The suitable extraction process of extracting cinnamon essential oil by HDE was optimized by single factor experiment and orthogonal test.The condition,that is,the distillation time was 2 h,the ratio of material to liquid was 1:7 g/ml,and the cinnamon particle size was 60 mesh.Under this condition,the extraction rate of cinnamon essential oil was 1.68%.Ultrasonic-assisted hydro distillation extraction(UAHDE): The suitable extraction process of extracting cinnamon essential oil by UAHDE was optimized by single factor experiment and orthogonal test.These were ultrasonic power 250 w,ultrasonic time 30 min,distillation time 1 h,and ratio of material to liquid 1:7 g/ml.Under this condition,the extraction rate of cinnamon oil was 2.12%.At the same time,the composition analysis by GC-MS showed that the content of active constituents of cinnamon essential oil obtained by UAHDE was high.Scanning electron microscopy was used to characterize the cinnamon structure before and after ultrasonic treatment.It was found that ultrasonic wave had a destructive effect on the structure of cinnamon,so the extraction rate and the quality of cinnamon oil by UAHDE method was higher compared with HDE.The effects of seasons and raw material parts on essential oil extraction yield and composition were investigated.The results showed that seasonal and raw material parts have a significant effect on essential oil extraction yield and essential oil composition: the extraction rate of essential oil in spring leaves is lower than that in autumn,but the aldehyde content is higher than that in autumn;the extraction rate of cinnamon is higher than that of cinnamon leaves,and there are significant differences in the extracted essential oil components.
