Cinnamon essential oil is an important volatile natural plant essential oil with desirable functional activity and antibacterial properties.To improve the yield,quality,and production efficiency of cinnamon oil,this study used ultrasonic assisted steam distillation to extract cinnamon oil,with cinnamon as raw material.Meanwhile,the article tried to utilize the cinnamon extract(the opalescent oil-water mixture),as a by-products of cinnamon essential oil in the extraction process,to develop a highly efficient,safe,environmentally friendly,natural plant-type cinnamon detergent.In addition,this study has designed a factory that produces 100 tons of cinnamon oil per year.The main research contents and results are as follows:(1)The cinnamon essential oil was extracted by steam distillation and ultrasonic assisted steam distillation,and the two processes were optimized by response surface design experiments.According to the actual experimental conditions,the optimum conditions for extracting cinnamon essential oil by steam distillation were as follows: 154.60 g of loading capacity,61.10 min of distillation time,600 W of distillation power,and the yield of cinnamon essential oil was 3.91‰.The optimum conditions for extracting cinnamon essential oil by ultrasonic assisted steam distillation were as follows: 24.20 min of ultrasonic treatment time,42 °C of ultrasonic assisted extraction temperature,200 W/L power density,154.90 g of loading capacity,and the yield of cinnamon essential oil was 8.33‰.Comparing the yields of the two methods,it was indicated that the ultrasonic assisted steam distillation method can improve the extraction effect of cinnamon essential oil significantly.(2)The volatile components of cinnamon essential oil extracted by steam distillation extraction(SD),ultrasonic assisted steam distillation extraction(UASD)and microwave assisted steam distillation extraction(MASD)were analyzed by GC-MS.It was found that the main volatile components of cinnamon essential oil were aldehydes,esters and alcohols.Among them,the characteristic components of cinnamon(cinnamaldehyde)essential oil extracted by UASD was the highest.At the same time,the principal component analysis showed that the primary components of the volatile components of cinnamon essential oil extracted by the three methods were significantly different.(3)Cinnamon was used as raw material to prepare cinnamon extract by steam distillation,and its antibacterial effect was studied to develop cinnamon detergent.The results showed that the cinnamaldehyde extracts with 758 and 75.8 mg/kg of cinnamaldehyde mass fraction had better antimicrobial effect on Escherichia coli and airborne bacteria.The optimum detergent formulation was as follows: the mass fraction of cinnamon extract was 15%,the mass fraction of surfactant fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether,sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(LAS)and fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sulfate(AES)were 6%,8% and 9%,respectively.Compared with a common detergent on the market,the cinnamon detergent containing 15% cinnamon extract had stronger antimicrobial effect and better decontamination ability.(4)The study has carried out an engineering design of a factory with an annual output of 100 tons of cinnamon essential oil.The main design contents included: process flow,material balance calculation,equipment selection,product quality testing and technical and technical and economic analysis.Besides,a production workshop and a factory for extracting cinnamon essential oil by ultrasonic assisted steam distillation were designed.Through economic analysis,the annual profit margin can reach about 37.51%,that is 15% higher than the annual profit margin of the traditional cinnamon essential oil factory,which has a good reference value for the application of enterprises.
