Superhydrophobic surfaces have attracted wide attention due to their good performance after the discovery of the lotus leaf effect, and have been applied in various fields. With the improvement of living standards, people have put forward higher requirements for the functionality of fabrics.Multi-functional superhydrophobic antibacterial fabrics have broad application prospects and practical value. This paper aims to prepare fabrics with both superhydrophobic and antibacterial properties, and mainly works in the following three aspects:(1)Polydopamine was deposited on the surface of the cotton fabric and used as a binder and a reducing agent, and a mixed solution of silver nitrate, ammonium citrate and boric acid was used as an impregnation solution to reduce the nano silver particles and adhered them to the surface of the cotton fabric. After treatment with hexadecyltrimethoxy silane(HDTMS),the superhydrophobic antibacterial fabric was obtained. The product was characterized and tested for its hydrophobic and antibacterial properties. The results showed that the static contact angle of the cotton fabric after being treated was 152.0° and the sliding angle was 6°.The inhibition rates against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli both reached 99.9%.The treated cotton fabric showed good self-cleaning performance. After 30 washes, the contact angle of the fabric surface was still maintained at around 146.8°,and the sliding angle was 19°.The inhibition rates against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were 95.4% and 95.2%,respectively,with long-lasting water wash resistance.(2)Epoxypropyl dodecyldimethylammonium chloride(EPDDAC)was synthesized by using epichlorohydrin and N,N-dimethyldodecylamine as raw materials and isopropanol as solvent. When the molar ratio of epichlorohydrin to N,N-dimethyldodecylamine was 1.3 and the reaction temperature was 50?,the reaction had a high synthesis rate. Then grafting the EPDDAC onto the nano silica particles by coupling agent KH550 to synthesize the quaternized nano silica particles. The composition of the composite was analyzed by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy and photoelectron spectroscopy.(3)Quaternized nano-silica particles with antibacterial function were adhered to the surface of cotton fabric fibers by using polydopamine as a binder, and then the superhydrophobic antibacterial fabric was obtained after treated with hexadecyltrimethoxy silane(HDTMS).The hydrophobic properties and antibacterial properties of the treated fabric were tested. The treated fabric had a static contact angle of 153.2°,a rolling angle of 6°,and inhibition rates of 99.7% and 99.9% against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, respectively. The treated fabric showed excellent hydrophobic and antibacterial properties. After 30 washings, the contact angle of the fabric surface still maintained at around 147.0 ° and the sliding angle was 18°.The inhibition rates against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were 96.2% and 98.9%,respectively.It indicated that the treated fabric had good water washability.
